Roxbury is a 112-bed behavioral healthcare facility located in Shippensburg, PA. Our 52-bed acute adult and adolescent psychiatric units treat individuals with mental illnesses who need short-term hospitalization. In our 60-bed chemical dependency unit, detoxification is conducted under close medical supervision for adults dealing with substance abuse issues.We are currently recruiting a full-time Counselor to work on our Substance Use Disorder Unit. The Counselor assesses the patient’s drug and alcohol history, establishes treatment goals, and provides therapeutic and educational services consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Roxbury Treatment Center. A Master’s Degree in a psychology-related field with at least 1 year of experience is preferred. Education & Experience:Master’s Degree or above from an accredited college with a major in Psychology or other related field which includes a practicum in health or human service agency preferred. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in Psychology or other related field and one year of clinical experience (minimum 1820 hours) in a health or human services agency required.Current licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a registered nurse and a degree from an accredited school of nursing and one (1) year of counseling experience (minimum 1820 hours) in a health or human services agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting. If a person’s experience did not take place in a drug and alcohol setting, the individual's training plan shall specifically address a plan to achieve counseling competency in chemical dependency issues.Full certification as an addiction counselor by a statewide certification body, which is a member of a National certification body or certification by another state government’s substance abuse counseling certification board.EEO Statement
