The Position:The Assistant Director of Annual Giving is responsible for the planning and implementation of effective annual giving strategies for Ivy Tech Indianapolis. Strategies will engage, cultivate, solicit, and steward Ivy Tech Indianapolis alumni, friends and other targeted constituents to meet the financial and participation goals of campus. The Assistant Director will be a key team member in helping to develop and execute successful communication strategies to acquire new donors and increase giving levels of current donors.

Key Responsibilities:The Assistant Director of Annual Giving will work closely with the Executive Director of Development to plan and implement effective annual giving strategies and craft inspiring storytelling messages for the Indianapolis Campus.Strategies will engage, cultivate, solicit, and steward Ivy Tech Indianapolis alumni, friends and other targeted constituents to meet financial and participation goals.The Assistant Director will be a key team member in helping to develop and execute successful multi-channel communication strategies to acquire new donors and increase giving levels of current donors.Primary responsibilities include writing and preparing content for direct mail solicitations, email solicitations, and crowdfunding campaigns/giving days.Work with the Development Team to create and implement a segmented multi-channel communication plan utilizing direct mail, email, phone, video, social media and web content.Manage direct mail and email appeals from concept to completion, including data requests, design creation, collaborating with Marketing and Communications, and coordinating mailing details with vendors.With the assistance of the Executive Director of Development, plan and execute two major giving days including Ivy Tech Day and Giving Tuesday.Engage and excite alumni volunteers and the campus community in preparation for Ivy Tech Day.Effectively use storytelling to craft compelling donor-centric fundraising messages and videos.Collaborate with the Development Team to pull donor giving data and lists from CRM for analysis, solicitation, and stewardship purposes.Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:Required -Bachelor's degree in related field (or Associate degree combined with years of experience) plus 1-3 years’ related work experience.Ability to build and steward relationships.Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.Ability to work with, motivate, and lead volunteers.Goal oriented and self-starter who is able to work effectively without much supervision.Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and financial transactions.Willingness and ability for some travel with some evening and weekend work.Work professionally in independent and team environment to accomplish objectives.Preferred -2 or more years of alumni relations, development or comparable experience.A general knowledge of institutional fundraising.Skill in a range of technology platforms.Strong analytical and database skills and experience with a CRM.Must demonstrate ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by our students and employees and which every individual feels respected and valued.

Starting Salary Range:

$45,000-$50,000Classification:
