We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer to lead our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a US Citizen, have at least 3 years of embedded (C/C++) coding experience and a demonstrated ability to lead a team of 12 to 15 software engineers in Agile embedded application development. Your passion for working in a fast-paced, highly technical environment will be critical to the team’s ability to pave the way to a variety of new software applications that directly impact our Warfighter’s ability to quickly overmatch and overwhelm near peer adversaries.
Job Role:
Assist in the design, development and testing of embedded code for a variety of Department of Defense (DoD) projects.
Lead a team in the Agile development environment to provide a unique and significant capability critical to our nation’s defense.
Design, develop, and implement embedded software and firmware in C/C++.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and specifications.
Develop and maintain software documentation, including specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
Conduct testing and debugging of embedded systems to ensure safety, functionality and expected performance.
Participate in design reviews, provide input on hardware and software architecture decisions, and communicate effectively with the customer and management.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 3 years experience in embedded systems development, with proficiency in coding in C/C++.
Understanding of electronic circuitry and hardware design principles.
Experience with microcontrollers, sensors, and communication protocols (e.g., CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, LiDAR, GPS, IMU).
Experience effectively leading a software team in the Agile development environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with MIL-STD 1553 communications is a plus.
Experience with Earned Value Management is also a plus but not required (training can be provided).
