IT Programmer Analyst II
is the full performance level of work designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining applications and programs using generally accepted computer programming languages or other developmental tools. The use of generally accepted computer languages or other developmental tools may include third and fourth generation languages such as, but not limited to: .NET technologies, ASP.NET, C#, JavaScript, SQL, Angular, REST API, PowerShell and Azure PowerPlatform.Duties include, but are not limited to:Analyze, design, develop, test, document and support applications.Provide technical leadership and guidance to the software development team, following SDLC Principles, including analyzing requirements, recommending technical solutions, reviewing code, and introducing new technology.Write technical documentation and standard operating procedures.Research and recommend software technology and architecture to management.Coordinate enterprise software applications development and source code control.Provide technical support to departments as needed.Employees are subject to being on call 24 hours a day must be willing and available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.The current vacancy exists at MDOT TSO, Office of Transportation Technology Services, which is located in Hanover, MD. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other information technology related field.Experience:
One (1) year of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining applications systems and programs using generally accepted computer programming languages or other developmental tools.
*Six (6) months of this experience must have included experience utilizing established development tools, guidelines and conventions including but not limited to: C#, ASP.Net, Azure, JavaScript or PowerShell.*Selective Qualification recruitments are utilized when the position requires specific or additional bona fide occupational qualifications (knowledge, skills, and abilities). Employees assigned such duties may be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the state of Maryland.Special Requirements:Employees are subject to being on call 24 hours a day and will be required to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where they can be reached.
