Please review the following job description:We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of Cloud to oversee the design, development, deployment, and monitoring of our cloud and SaaS applications. As a senior executive, you will play a critical role in driving the company’s cloud strategy, ensuring that all cloud-based services operate efficiently, securely, and in full compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of cloud technologies, SaaS management, and regulatory frameworks.

Mature the architecture and oversee the implementation of a secure, scalable, and cost-effective multi-cloud ecosystem

Design and oversee implementation of effective cloud security measures, including identity and access management, data protection, and threat detection

Collaborate with C-level executives to align cloud and security initiatives with overall business strategy

Drive innovation by identifying and integrating emerging cloud technologies and security solutions

Manage teams of skilled cloud architects and security specialists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement

Ensure compliance with stringent financial industry regulations and security standards in cloud environments

Act as the key liaison between IT, security, business units, and cloud service providers

Develop and implement comprehensive cloud security policies, procedures, and incident response plans

Develop and maintain the bank's cloud architecture roadmap, strategy, and security framework

Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and compliant cloud solutions

Oversee the development and execution of cloud security policies, standards, and best practices

Collaborate with business units to identify opportunities for secure cloud adoption and migration

Manage relationships with cloud service providers and security vendors, negotiating contracts and service levels

Mentor and lead teams of cloud architects, engineers, and security specialists

Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, security threats, and industry trends

Conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability management for cloud infrastructure

Lead incident response efforts for cloud-related security events

Provide executive-level reporting on cloud architecture, security posture, and risk management

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Defines short term and long term growth of the services

Management of resources and budget of spend/activity

Tends to work with Senior/Executive Management of maturity of processes and approach

Has expected input on the organizations Strategy, Transformation and Innovation environments.

Usually oversees or gives input to critical policies, practices (tier 1 & 2) level disciplines within the organization.

Responsible for defining training, certification and career path for its members

Constantly analyses different technologies and vendors for new or better alternatives for the ET organization

Provides implementation and service support of “below the line” Core IT Infrastructure with a focus on Production Stability / Uptime

Manages EOL Evergreening of old equipment to manage technical debt within their area of expertise

Enables “above the line” self-service abilities and provides support for Squads through automation

Provides continuous improvements of service capabilities through efficiencies & optimization – focus on fast, easy, simple at the right cost

Maintains Service level monitoring through dashboards

Consulting engagements for product squads to enable adaption and DevOps ownership practices: Example: Use of Terraform, or CI/CD onboarding

Usually involved in speaking engagements and other forward thinking though leadership activities for the organization.

Will develop, gain approval for and manage the budget to accomplish goals.

Will serve on the Company IT Steering Team, which oversees all aspects of the company’s information technology function.

Management of new vendor relationships for specific initiatives.

This role is the primary point of communication between the internal IT group and internal and external business partners, users and senior management.

Analyze situations, evaluate alternatives, and implement robust solutions

Interpret guidelines and analyze information to adapt or modify processes in response to changing circumstances.

Duties may require non-routine analysis, research and follow-through

Financial responsibility includes working within a budget to complete projects and assisting with budget development

Purchase equipment and supplies as provided for in the budget

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree and 20 to 30 years related experience or equivalent combination.

Managed Technology or Technology Process Teams for more than 15 years or teams of 30 or more technologists.

Excellent knowledge of technical management and data governance.

Knowledge of current trends in IT hardware and systems software field.

Database management skills with the ability to produce reports.

Familiarity with the support and troubleshooting of personal computers and tablet devices.

Training ability and experience is a plus.

The position requires strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment

The ability to make commitments and be willing to be held accountable against them, organizing workloads to meet deadlines

Exhibit adaptability to accept or bring about change when needed

Strong written and verbal communication skills

The ability to excel in a team environment and advance overall team objectives

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree

12+ years of experience in IT architecture and security, with at least 7 years focused on cloud technologies

Expertise in major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and their security features

Strong understanding of financial industry regulations and compliance requirements related to cloud and data security

Extensive experience with cloud security architectures, including identity and access management, encryption, network security, and threat detection

Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

Proven track record of successful large-scale cloud transformations and implementing robust security measures

Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CISSP, CCSP, Azure Security Engineer)
