HDR is looking for a Low Voltage/Security Designer to join our team in Charlotte, NC. Primary duties will include the development of design specifications and drawings for integrated low voltage systems. Major areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Meeting with clients to determine detail communications project requirements
Developing communications design narratives, specifications, drawings and cost estimates for projects
Coordinating electronic security design work with other disciplines (Architectural, Electrical Mechanical, etc.)
Formally presenting electronic security design ideas and submissions to clients
Performing internal quality assurance/quality control for peer projects
Performing contractor bid submittal review for completeness
Providing construction administration services during construction phases of projects
Preferred Qualifications
Broad industry knowledge and experience with Access Control, Video Surveillance, Intrusion Detection, Systems, UFC Standards, CEPTED preferred
PSP certification is preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is preferred
AutoCAD, Microstation, VISIO, Bluebeam experience is a plus
Military design experience is a plus
Local candidates are preferred
RCDD
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in low voltage system design
Must be able to travel as needed (less than 20% of time)
Must be self-starting, self-directing, and task oriented
Demonstrated ability to manage a number of concurrent projects and meet deadlines
Must possess strong written, verbal and communications skills
Strong computer skills required (MS office suite, working across multiple office networks, automated business systems)
