What you’ll be doing...As a key member of the Corporate Communications team, the Senior Manager, Financial Communications will focus on media relations and narrative development to drive financial strength messaging. This person will create and drive integrated communications strategies (external/internal PR + social) in all Finance-related areas, including quarterly earnings, Mergers & Acquisitions, treasury, annual reports and Verizon Ventures.
Responsibilities:
Develop quarterly earnings materials including messaging, press releases, and internal materials, including key messages/talking points, internal communications, social copy, etc.
Partner with the employee communications team to build Finance employee communications campaigns that are tied to strategic goals and meant to foster a culture of development, engagement, and innovation that enhance business performance and employee well-being.
Partner with the senior director of communications to elevate the chief financial officer and finance leadership team through a proactive thought leadership strategy.
Partner with internal stakeholders in finance (IR, Corporate Finance, Strategy, Treasury, etc.) to understand KPIs and develop strategies and messages to support them.
Collaborate with Corporate Communications team members to ensure cohesiveness of developed messaging is threaded across all corporate narratives.
Effectively partner with Finance HR Business Partners, Finance executive team, and other line of business communicators to ensure desired communications outcomes.
Serve as a communications liaison to the Verizon Ventures team by developing communications material for web and social media channels.
Serve as key spokesperson with relevant/select media.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
Experience working with C-level executives.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Extensive experience in financial communications on an in-house team or at a PR agency.
Ability to breakdown complex financial information into clear and concise communications materials.
Strong written, oral, and presentation skills.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $109,000.00 and $202,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
