NOTE: This position is offered as a hybrid role in the Seattle, WA area. Our talented fashion design team — the Nordstrom Product Group — develops, designs, produces and sources 50-plus private Nordstrom labels. From traditional to trendy, this team is shaping the styles and looks our customer love.We have an opportunity on our team for an Associate Product Merchandiser supporting the Boy's categories. As the Associate Product Merchandiser, you will influence and execute merchandise strategies and present product lines to deliver product performance results across Nordstrom.Nordstrom Product Group (NPG) is Nordstrom's Private Brand Division and includes a portfolio of brands designed and developed specifically for Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack customers. The Associate Product Merchandiser is positioned within the Merchandising Team in NPG. This team is responsible for maintaining, growing, and enhancing the positioning of NPG brands through the development of short and long-term strategic direction. The Associate Product Merchandiser supports the Product Merchandiser to drive the vision for their area of responsibility (AOR), build line plans, curate a balanced assortment, and lead the development of trend-right product that helps build brand love with our customers.A day in the life…Leverage marketplace insights, consumer trends, and sales data to assist in driving the strategic vision for the AOR and line plans that establish item, price and unit expectations that meet or exceed financial targets; be an expert in customer macro trends, including shifts in customer behavior and style elements (fabric, print, pattern, color) to identify opportunities to capitalize on trends that align to brand positioning.Analyze in season business and quickly move from data to insights to execute optimizations whether for short-term (chase and cancel) opportunities or long-term (future development) applications and partner with Vendors to create trend-right product that drives customer demand.Lead and facilitate key milestone meetings, ensuring that the vision and strategy is brought to life for the Buying Team including key item investments, digital growth perspective, replenishment recommendations, etc.Create, build and maintain Buy Meeting Power Point presentations and manage communication pre- and post-Buy Meeting with vendors & cross-functional partners.Responsible for item creation and maintenance, cost sheet requests, BOM information, and guidance for all Vendor entered fields in Flex PLM system.Manage Milestone calendar and Vendor/Internal due dates.Facilitate weekly communication with NMG on NPG Playbook details and manage Replenishment and Reserve stock communication with NMG and Production Planning.Ensure costing due dates are met and escalate variances to Product Merchandiser and PD Partner.You own this if you have…2+ years of experience in buying, merchandising, or planning role for a retail organization.Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills.Strong organization and time management skills.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.Proficiency in MS Office suite.Experience in Flex PLM and Nuorder.Ability to demonstrate business acumen.We’ve got you covered…Our employees are our most important asset and that’s reflected in our benefits. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.Washington: $80,000 - $155,000 annually. This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
