NOTE: This position is offered as a hybrid role in the Seattle, WA area. You must be willing to work in office at the Nordstrom Seattle office a minimum of 3 days/week to be considered for this position.Important Application Note: In addition to your resume, please include a PDF or link to a portfolio of your work to be considered for this position.As a Designer of Men’s for one of our Nordstrom Product Group (NPG) brands, you will own your category of responsibilities - conceptualizing, sketching and executing product that represent the Brand Ethos and fashion trends that appeal to the Nordstrom customer. The ideal candidate has experience in tailored men’s apparel categories and knows how to drive design development. An elevated design eye and experience in contemporary or luxury markets is a plus.A day in the life…Own concept & design for your assignment – ensuring it supports Brand Design Direction, Concept, and line plan needsDesign original and commercially viable productCustomer centric – perform continuous research to understand customer, trends, and shifts in the competitive landscapeResearch materials, select fabric and trimsSupport design leadership to build and curate all visual tools needed to support seasonal story telling for their assignment/teamPartner with design leadership to color the lineBuild strong, synergistic relationships with all cross functional partnersPromote a culture of continuous improvement that pushes innovation and accelerates expected outcomesYou own this if you have…Bachelor's degree in Design, preferredMinimum 5 years' experience in design industryStrong understanding of industry and trends within men’s tailoringKeen eye for fabric development and selectionClear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills - ability to work independently or as a teamProficiency in Adobe CS (required), MS Office suite and ability to hand-sketch. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.Washington: $80,000 - $155,000 annually. This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
