Middle School Principal
Hours:
1.0 FTE (40 hrs/week), Non-Exempt (12-month position)
Responsibilities/duties include, but are not limited to:
Answer phones and accurately route calls and messages to the appropriate staff
Interact and greet visitors/parents/students professionally
Manage (under the supervision of, and as directed by the Middle School Principal) the day to day administrative operations of MS Office which includes key maintenance, security system, postage, mail, and other administrative processes, procedures and systems, following up with the appropriate persons/companies when systems are down
Maintain Early Dismissal Log, Visitor Sign-In Sheet and Staff Sign-in Sheets
Maintain Student and School Administrative MS Files
Translation (Verbal and Written)
Meeting coordination and set-up
Oversee postage and ensure that there is adequate postage each day
Stamp and receive school mail packages
Provide administrative support to Middle School Principal and Head of School
Order all office and school supplies (with approval of Middle School Principal) for Middle School
Type letters, notices and other correspondence for MS
Serve as liaison between middle school faculty and staff and Business Office relating to payroll, HR and other administrative procedures
Coordinate and schedule field trips and other school events
Planning oversight of middle school students
School Mailings
Coordinate and schedule fire drills for Middle School, maintaining evacuation plans for all classrooms and office
Maintain and keep updated all school administrative and student files
Maintain copy of MS Student Database
Enter Student Attendance daily following up with teachers and parents each day
Work as a team member in conjunction with other school administrative staff when special projects are needed
Attend parent conferences to provide oral translation
Translate Middle School Progress Reports and Report Cards
Maintain staff and faculty mailboxes
Maintain staff bulletin boards (HR Mandatory Info as directed by HR)
May Coordinate and arrange for substitute teachers to cover Middle School Teachers
Coordinate and oversee (in conjunction with the Middle School Principal) all student testing and other data related to MS
Provide office orientation information and documents for new employees
Honors confidentiality
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
High School Graduate, Secretarial Degree or Certification, or a high level of administrative secretarial experience (3-5 years), including strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Machine Transcription, and database management (Excel or Access).
Excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with faculty, staff, students, parents, visitors, and vendors.
Good phone skills and the ability to prioritize everyday and special projects, in addition to handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage the day-to-day operations of a busy satellite administrative school office, following up when systems, processes, or procedures are down.
Excellent bilingual skills, both oral and written.
Spanish Speaking Required.
