who is highly qualified and skillful to join our community of teachers, students, and stakeholders.We serve approximately 22,000 students at 37 elementary, middle, and high schools. Approximately 55% of students come from homes where English is not the primary language spoken. Combined, our students and families speak over 75 different languages and hail from 91 countries of origin.The Assistant Principal is responsible for supporting the principal with administering and supervising the total school program by establishing high expectations for student achievement; building a positive school climate that supports the whole student; leveraging research and data to drive initiatives and instruction; and building and developing a high-performing staff and leadership team to achieve the school’s vision and goals. The assistant principal will support the principal in building collaborative partnerships with parents, community members, consultants, as well as other internal/external resources and stakeholders to implement educational programs, capital improvements, systems reform, tools, and other resources to accelerate student achievement.SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
The assistant principal works under the general supervision of a superior with latitude for the exercise of initiative and independent judgment; work is reviewed upon completion through conferences and reports for conformance to established policies, objectives, rules, and regulations.SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
Plans, coordinates, organizes, supervises, and evaluates the work of instructional, professional, technical, and clerical staff.Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in educational administration/leadership;Minimum of five (5) years in teaching experience;Administrative residency in an urban school setting, preferred;Experience in a teacher leadership position, engaging in collaborative data analysis, action planning, lesson study, and peer observation.RIDE REQUIREMENT:
