Associate Director of Innovation

position. The Position:

This is an on-campus position with some hybrid/remote work schedule flexibility.

The Associate Director of Innovation leads the strategic direction, governance, and execution of pivotal projects within the division's innovation initiatives. This leadership role collaborates closely with the Assistant Vice Provost for Innovation and Enrollment Research to drive the development of high-impact, innovative initiatives that align with and advance divisional objectives. The Associate Director is instrumental in shaping strategy, prioritizing projects, orchestrating cross-functional teams, and ensuring effective stakeholder engagement. Additionally, this position provides leadership and mentorship to the Coordinator for Enrollment Management Business Processes, ensuring cohesive execution and continuous improvement.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree

A minimum of three years of experience in a higher education environment.

Familiarity with current trends and challenges in higher education.

At least three years of supervisory experience.

Progressively responsible experience managing projects with a team.

Proven track record of developing and maintaining positive professional relationships.

Preferred Education and Experience:

A minimum of five years of experience working in higher education with knowledge of the roles of the multiple areas that constitute Enrollment Management and an in-depth understanding of enrollment management processes, operations, and best practices.

Demonstrated ability to manage projects including the development of measures of success.

A certificate in Project Management.

Highly developed oral and written communication skills.

A willingness to adapt to new and changing national technology trends.

Ability to lead new projects through to completion via collaboration with stakeholders and highly developed skills in project management particularly planning and scheduling.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville policies, procedures, and processes.

Working knowledge of current trends and challenges in higher education.

Proven ability to supervise staff and evaluate the work of others.
