Job Description: Senior Data Modeling Analyst (Cloud)Position Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Modeling Analyst (Cloud) to lead and manage cloud architecture, data management, and cloud security services. This role involves overseeing compliance programs, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, and providing strategic advisory on cloud services. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, significant technical expertise, and experience working with large cloud service implementations. They will provide guidance on cloud migrations, security assessments, and product management while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet organizational and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage compliance programs, policies, reporting, and practices for cloud services, ensuring all activities align with regulatory and organizational requirements.
Oversee internal controls and auditing systems, ensuring continuous monitoring and reporting on cloud-related regulated activities.
Lead risk-based compliance testing of procedures and controls to identify, detect, and correct noncompliance.
Collaborate with NIH leadership to provide strategic and technical input on cloud architecture, ensuring alignment with long-term goals.
Offer strategic data management and engineering support for cloud platforms, including assessment and documentation of technical requirements.
Provide scientific, technical, and architectural leadership in cloud strategies and platform development.
Guide cloud migrations and provide expert recommendations based on industry best practices.
Oversee cloud security operations and ensure compliance with security standards such as NIST, FIPS, and HHS policies.
Conduct targeted assessments of cloud services infrastructure, applications, data management, and security.
Assist in the development and implementation of automated self-service portals, integrating with tools like GitHub and Azure.
Lead cloud enablement efforts, offering training and consultation to NIH scientists and researchers on the effective use of cloud services.
Provide ongoing cloud product management, developing product roadmaps, capacity plans, and supporting cloud integrations.
Manage and supervise a team of technical staff, ensuring alignment with project milestones, goals, and approved budgets.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud architecture, data management, or cloud security.
1-3 years of supervisory experience, demonstrating leadership in cloud service strategy, compliance, or security.
Extensive knowledge of cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and related services.
Experience with compliance and regulatory frameworks such as NIST, FIPS, and Federal Information Processing Standards.
Strong understanding of automated portals and cloud module development for scientific and research environments.
Excellent communication and project management skills, with a track record of successful cloud service implementation and security compliance.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working within NIH or a similar research-driven environment.
Certifications in cloud services, security, or compliance (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Security Engineer).
Familiarity with scientific computing, cloud enablement initiatives, and GitHub-based development.
Compensation and BenefitsThe projected compensation range for this position is $119,750 to $160,000 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The target salary is $140,000. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
