Information Technology (IT) Support Technician

is a part-time, benefit-eligible member of the GSEMA Information Technology team providing tier-one support to council staff. The IT Support Technician assists the Senior Director, IT in maintaining technology assets, staying current with tech trends and driving projects and initiatives that enhance the council’s technological capabilities. This role supports staff to adopt and utilize new capabilities by providing training and ongoing support.Access to reliable transportation is required to travel to the GSEMA Waltham office and occasional travel to other GSEMA offices and properties if needed. As this position requires travel within the Council service area, possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle is preferred.Explore Key Responsibilities:Provide Tier One technical support using a cloud-based IT ticketing system.Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.Set up staff access to shared network resources.Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure a seamless onboarding and offboarding experience by efficiently creating and deactivating staff accounts.Configure new workstations with standard GSEMA software applications.Address security issues on laptops and remediate infections when they occur.Assist with documenting policies and procedures.Assist in pursuing and implementing new technologies to enhance council capabilities and increase staff productivity in a cost-effective manner.Essential Skills and Qualifications:Minimum of 1 year of work and/or intern experience in a similar role.Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.Possess an understanding of technology with a working knowledge of operating systems, business applications, printing systems, and network systems; Experience with Microsoft products, including Office 365 beneficial, but not required.Good written and verbal communication skills.Capacity to, independently and as part of a team, plan, organize and prioritize work, while managing multiple deadlines.Ability to effectively identify, analyze and solve practical problems and successfully manage a variety of variables and personalities; ability to adapt in a changing environment.Ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects.Self-motivated and willing to learn new skills.Ability to work a flexible schedule.Reasonable accommodations
