Job Summary
The role will be responsible for planning and executing the sales strategy in the region of the Americas based on the Traction global vision and leading the team to achieve the overall sales goals in profitable ways. The position will lead, develop, and coach the regional sales organization proactively to exceed the sales targets through growth initiatives, new product introductions, and customer-facing activities.
Job Description
Develop sales strategies consistent with the BU's long-term growth plan, establish sales targets, and ensure sales achievement through regular oversight and definition and implementation of improvement plans.
Assure the continued rapid growth and profitability of the Company through the generation of new orders and sales for the Company's products and services to meet corporate booking and revenue goals.
Develop and own monthly, quarterly, and annual order forecasts, developing, owning, and executing through the sales organization the processes for forecasting & execution.
Identifies opportunities for existing and potential new customers within the Americas and determines plans for resource acquisition and allocation.
Provide leadership to the sales team for contribution and ownership of sales forecast intelligence as part of the S&OP.
Develop knowledge of competitive products, and portfolio value propositions and work with functional teams to drive improvements.
Ensure achievement of sales volume and product mix targets and participate in negotiations of key contracts.
Cross functionally collaborates with Finance Collections teams to identify, execute, and reduce open and past due Account Receivables, providing customer engagement and direction as required.
Develop, pursue, and train others in a strategy for sales prospecting, and account management, inclusive of best practices for sales-support tools (CRM/Salesforce), including the establishment of customer engagement criteria and KPIs.
Establish fiscal year budgets for the region, operate within the approved organizational budget, and meet Nidec compliance standards.
Build a passionate sales team and lead the team to achieve sales targets as well as their career success.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent as required. Electric motor or electronics major is preferred.
10+ years of experience in a similar role selling industrial products/solutions to clients in the assigned territory, including 5 years in a leadership role at least.
Proactive and practical, adept at assessing customer requirements, and selecting appropriate methods to fulfill them.
Skilled at determining priorities, establishing a systematic course of action to ensure successful completion, and allocating time and resources effectively.
Strong customer interface and presentation skills are essential in this role.
Skillful negotiator, acting as a trusted advisor when dealing with customers' business needs.
Excellent Account Planning skills.
Demonstrated leadership skills, including team building, coaching, and the ability to motivate people.
Travel up to 50% required.
Languages
English mandatory. Other language skills are helpful.
Range: 160K-200K DOE
