Summary:
The Senior Traffic & Revenue Engineer is an advanced professional role responsible for leading the analysis and forecasting of traffic and revenue data. This position involves a significant level of expertise in developing sophisticated models, mentoring junior staff, and providing data-driven insights to support Cintra’s toll road business development.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Traffic & Revenue Studies
Lead the analysis of complex traffic and socioeconomic data to develop accurate and reliable forecasts.Design, develop, and maintain advanced traffic and revenue models, incorporating the latest industry practices and methodologies.Take ownership of a variety of spreadsheet-based models used to forecast traffic and revenue for existing and potential managed lane and toll road projects.Develop and give presentations summarizing the entirety of traffic and revenue forecasts to supervisors and company executives. Have a confident and complete grasp of the project’s modeling, traffic & revenue data, socio-economic data and outlook, project concept, regional policies, and professional assumptions.Define, implement, analyze, and track traffic data collection programs including but not limited to traffic counts, market research surveys, opinion polls, and travel time surveys.Oversee the quality assurance and control processes to ensure the integrity of data and models.Mentor and guide junior engineers and analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate traffic and revenue analysis into broader organizational strategies.Contribute to Cintra Revenue Solutions Department’s research and innovation projects related to traffic and revenue, including participation in project meetings, liaising with the project team members, and overseeing project deliverables.Supporting T&R at Cintra’s ConcessionBe a primary point of contact for the concessions’ Traffic & Revenue teams and coordinate their reporting and analysis activities.Be the in-house expert for one or more of the concessions by developing a 360-degree knowledge of the project’s traffic & revenue data, legal and contractual obligations, and key strategic priorities.Prepare strategic memos and presentations for senior leadership on the concessions.Prepare periodic reports summarizing the findings of analyses conducted on traffic, revenue and economic conditions of Cintra’s North American concession companies.Perform other job-related duties as needed.Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education & Experience:Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or relevant field required, Master’s Degree in a transportation is preferred.4 to 7+ years of experience with transportation demand modeling and forecasting (preferably managed lanes and toll roads) is required.Experience with transportation network modeling and/or data mining.Experience in conducting research, analyzing data, identifying trends, and generating insights.Experience with discrete choice modeling, econometrics, or financial models.Professional Qualities:Highly motivated.Superior organizational and self-management skills, including the ability to proactively manage tasks with strict deadlines.Strong critical thinking skills.Ability to concisely and clearly present complex information to guide strategic and tactical decisions.Effectively manage tasks and strict deadlines with independence.Ability to interact with colleagues and executive-level employees in a self-managed team structure.Must be able to multitask, problem solve and implement innovative processes within a fast-paced environment.Superior quantitative skills.Superior writing and verbal communication skills, particularly technical report writing skills.Computer Skills:Must be able to demonstrate computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and other PC based programs.Proficiency with GIS, demand modeling (TransCAD or Cube), statistical, econometrics, and/or database software.Work Environment & Physical Demands:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
