Job Description:
The ITS & Toll Field Systems Manager will utilize people, process, and management skills to build high performance teams and deliver challenging business objectives and performance metrics. The ITS & Toll Field Systems Manager oversees a diverse team of field technicians responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining field deployed Toll Collection Systems (TCS), the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Network Communications Systems, Reversible Lane Systems (HOV), Air Quality Monitors (AQM), First Responder Radio System (FRRS), Road Weather Information Systems (RWIS), and assigned traffic light systems. Safety, quality issues, workforce performance, individual and team feedback, training, and personnel relations are the responsibility of this role. Every day you will continuously improve business and operating results – helping your team to be productive and deliver value.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Ensure team supervisors and junior personnel are up to date with all necessary certifications and licensing as it relates to safety and proficiency requirements.
Responsible for process and procedure development.
Responsible for driving continual process improvement, analysis and reporting.
Manage all preventative/corrective maintenance activities.
Actively escalate system issues and systemic problems to Field System Director.
Manage system development and testing of units and/or components.
Conduct weekly team meetings.
Demonstrate knowledge of system development activities.
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports related to system and technician performance.
Provide system management, maintenance, enhancements and modifications as necessary during operations and maintenance.
Responsible for field operations, technology installations, and business input for system / network/ technology acceptance from suppliers.
Responsible for the successful training of new and existing staff within his/her team.
Must be able to prioritize their own work and that of their team to provide positive business outcomes.
Selection, development, and evaluation of team personnel to ensure efficient and effective field operations.
Support equipment implementations, network architecture and analytics activities as required.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum 5 years ORT or All Electronic Tolling (AET) back-office system experience (Managed Lanes environment preferred but not necessary).
Minimum 5-10 years’ work experience in operations with a strong IT component.
Project management experience with coordination of teams or field crews in a technology environment preferred.
Professional Qualities:Effectively oversee, manage and delegate to a team.
Effectively manage tasks, deadlines and individuals including vendor contracts
Ability to interact with colleagues in a self-managed team structure.
Must be able to multitask, problem solve, and implement innovative processes within a fast-paced environment
Have a curious mind and is a lifelong learner
Computer Skills:Strong knowledge of IT network communications and systems
Must be able to demonstrate computer proficiency, especially as to Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point and other PC based programs
