POSITION SUMMARY:

The Nonhuman Primate Reagent Resource (NHPRR) at UMass Chan Medical School invites you to join our dynamic team as a Data Analyst. The successful candidate will join a growing resource with 25+ years of experience, delivering products to 1,000 research laboratories, representing 22 countries, and supporting over 3,600 grants. This is your opportunity to contribute to the advancement of groundbreaking discoveries in models of human diseases while working in a collaborative, innovative reagent resource focused on the development of biological products.

About the Role:

Reporting to the director and supported by a team of experienced mentors and managers, the Data Analyst will play a critical role in conducting advanced data analyses and developing comprehensive reports that support the strategic initiatives of NHPRR. You will be responsible for evaluating and enhancing state-of-the-art data management systems, identifying opportunities to improve system integration, and optimizing database operations. Our Informatics systems are designed to capture and report data from research, product development, manufacturing, e-commerce website usage, and impact studies. This role is essential to ensuring that NHPRR continues to deliver specialized biologics to research laboratories worldwide and supports thousands of research projects that drive the future of science.

Successful candidates will be problem solvers passionate about leveraging scientific, operational, and business data to inform decision-making and enhance research and operational outcomes.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and develop data collection instruments, databases, and procedure manuals.

Design and implement data management and quality control procedures.

Participate in project meetings related to data analysis and management.

Produce and report data analysis reports, including tabular and graphic summaries.

Conduct in-depth analysis of project data, performing computations with a high degree of independence.

Ensure accuracy of reports by data review and resolving discrepancies.

Provide interpretation of data to senior management.

Provide periodic reports to management regarding project status.

Schedule, plan, coordinate, and review project activities related to data.

Review and monitor compliance with federal and state regulations.

Perform other duties as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in a business, health sciences, or a related field or equivalent.

4 years of related experience.

Demonstrated experience/skills in appropriate computer, statistical or database applications.

Demonstrated ability to research issues and resources; basic record-keeping and organizational skills.

Demonstrated ability to write reports, journal articles and/or other technical documents.

Excellent communication, both oral and written.

Interpersonal skills necessary to interact successfully with a wide range of individuals.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with SQL and reporting technologies such as Jasper, SSRS, or Crystal Report.

Experience with dashboard development technology such as Oracle APEX, SAP, Tableau, Power BI.

Experience with data preparation, data validation, and report validation.

Understanding of basic statistics.

Familiarity with clinical research operations in an academic medical center, preferred.
