The Senior Business Analyst will interpret the requirements of various academic and business offices and translate these requirements into user stories or functional technical specifications for the creation, modification, or enhancement of critical applications. Analyze business processes, gather requirements, and design effective solutions within the PeopleSoft Student administration modules.Work closely with staff from several academic offices to align technology solutions with business strategies.Demonstrate informed knowledge of the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions including Student Records, Campus Community, Admissions, Student Financials, and interface business areas to build solutions and resolve problems.Translate academic offices' needs into technical and functional requirements, configure changes, and contribute to quality assurance and training initiatives.Develop system test plans and perform testing and approval of specific projects or change management requests in the student system.Review implemented solutions; ensure changes have been made correctly and respond to organizational needs.Communicate changes to end users or specified training resources and provide additional documentation as needed.Identify opportunities for innovative technology solutions to improve business processes.Develop business plans to evaluate cost/benefit and feasibility studies with recommendations.Ensure quality control and risk management procedures during the application development process.Develop policies and procedures for new and existing systems, including documentation and training.Set standards for system enhancements, user requirements, software acceptance criteria, and end user technical support.Evaluate requests for system enhancements, upgrades, and provide support including environment management.Manage all aspects of the program development cycle from project definition through system implementation.Participate in the software development process as necessary.Ensure accuracy of application systems documentation.Train and mentor other analysts and project team members as needed.Perform other duties as required.Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems Management, or equivalent experience.7 years of related experience, including project management experience.Experience with PeopleSoft modules, preferably Campus Solutions.Proficient with PS Query Manager, SQL queries, and PeopleSoft Security.Experience working with PeopleSoft Upgrade Manager (PUM).Complete understanding of PeopleSoft Internet Architecture.Application and Tool Version – 9.2 and 8.58 +.Knowledge of STAT, Phire, or any version control tools.Ability to work independently.Excellent testing and documentation skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to work among diverse constituencies.Innovation, flexibility, and creativity.Understanding of user needs, roadmap, and future trends for the domain.UMass Chan Medical School was among 23 companies that stood out as 2023 “DEI champions,” according to The Boston Globe.Named a U.S. News & World Report “2023 BEST MEDICAL GRAD SCHOOL” for Primary Care and Research.
