Position Details

Job SummaryThe Career Development Center is seeking a Director of OSU-Cascades Career Services. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position located in Bend, Oregon.

The Director provides leadership over the Cascades Edge career program, including plans, systems, programs and performance standards to effectively deliver comprehensive career services, employer relations, and experiential learning, at OSU-Cascades.

This role oversees the operations and programs necessary for the quality and delivery of career development within the strategic plan of OSU-Cascades and the CDC.

The Director will oversee the career development team at OSU-Cascades comprised of Assistant Directors who provide programming, support and resources to students.

This position maintains student confidentiality and performs a wide range of duties that require tact, sensitivity, independent judgment, diplomacy, discretion and flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Supervision (35%)Assists in developing long term vision and strategies, as well as providing leadership and direction for the Cascades career development team.

External Relations (35%)Develops, implements and participates in programming and events to cultivate relationships between OSU-Cascades and employers and alumni.

Oversight of Career and Experiential Learning Initiatives (20%)Provides oversight and support on career and experiential learning opportunities for students.

Assessment (5%)Assess overall effectiveness and outcomes of strategies, ensuring continuous improvement.

Other Duties as assigned (5%)Work with the Executive Director, Senior Associate Dean, and direct reports to provide leadership and coordinated management of programs.

What You Will Need

Bachelor’s degree in field relevant to the position

3-5 years of experience in career development, recruitment, or student affairs

3 years of supervisory experience

Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with diverse populations.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a broad range of constituents.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.

Ability to formulate objectives, priorities, action steps, metrics, and plans to carry out a vision at a large scale.

What We Would Like You to Have

Master’s degree

Experience in alumni or employer engagement

Experience overseeing and executing large-scale events

Experience in developing and managing department budgets

Working Conditions / Work ScheduleTypical office environment, Monday – Friday.

Recommended Full-Time Salary Range$77,947 - $86,904
