MANAGER, INFORMATION SYSTEMS (IS) III - Core Banking Technology

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Core Banking Technology Leader will exhibit strong leadership skills, product knowledge, stakeholder management capabilities and experience creating significant impact across CNB. This leader works through prioritization efforts to ensure there is accurate technology assessments operating as a proactive partner to enable outcomes. The leader will continually raise the bar for accountability and ownership, but will also inspire an engaged team to align with the broader CNB Strategy.The ideal candidate brings an innovative mindset. This strategic leader is detail-oriented and can mentor and develop talent. This leader has demonstrated the ability to build teams both from within and outside CNB. This leader will create strong partnerships across CNB and find opportunities to modernize the Core Banking Platform leveraging the broader resources of the technology organization. This leader will manage outcomes partnered with direct and matrixed organizations.Technology and Innovation DivisionAs a member of City National's Technology & Innovation group, you will drive, develop, and maintain solutions for clients and colleagues. This is an exciting time of technology advancement and innovation across the bank, particularly within our technology teams.

What you will do

Inspirational Leadership combined with the ability to recruit and develop talent. Establish OKRs that align with outcomes for the organization.Hands-on leadership to manage through transformation. Mentor, develop and work with matrixed leaders to manage outcomes associated with Core Banking Technology. Manage vendors like FIS and FiServ.Fully accountable to the bank’s core banking platform (FIS IBS) & associated technology stack, and accountable for feature rollouts.Assess current portfolio for longevity, risk, and technology debt. Build a strategy and roadmap with the Operations and Product leaders to modernize the platform and sustain technology currency.Fully accountable for the operational outcomes of the Core Banking Platform, including resiliency, availability, and scalability.Perform a critical assessment of the Core Banking Eco-system including a review of the Architecture, framework, development methodology, information security designs, and change management capabilities – to inform a 3-year strategy of the technology vision for the Core Banking Platform.Create a realistic execution path to accomplish this technology vision.Conduct special projects as requested by senior management; monitor projects for adherence to Bank security and quality standards and management objectives; present project status reports to senior management.Participate in the development of Information Systems strategic direction and coordinate across business and technical teams to ensure all bank projects meet strategic objectives.Coordinate systems activities with other IS managers.Participate in vendor evaluations, recommend and review functional and overall system design, and technical planning to improve systems productivity and efficiency.Plan, develop, establish and control assigned organization and budget functions.Take ownership of department invoices; verify for accuracy and approve. Participate in defining terms for contract negotiations and service agreements.Represent the Bank by actively participating in outside civic and community affairs, business and industry-related organizations, and other professional activities as appropriate.Foster and maintain good relationships with colleagues to ensure that processes are integrated to support expected customer service levels.Facilitate the creation of a team environment by providing strong mentoring skills and interdepartmental communications.Recommend hires, transfers, terminations, salary adjustments, performance standards and reviews. Approve employee daily time records, work assignments, vacations, sick pay, etc.Comply fully with all Bank Operational and Credit policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements (e.g. Bank Secrecy Act, Know Your Client, Community Reinvestment Act, Fair Lending Practices, Code of Conduct, etc.).Complete all required training.Responsible and accountable for appropriate quality controls related to the financial products the bank provides, the services the bank delivers, the processes employed and the incentives with which colleagues are awarded.All City National products, financial solutions and services are to be provided ethically and with integrity in a manner that is consistent with the client-first culture and values embodied in City National’s PRIDE statement.Must-Have*Bachelor's Degree or equivalentMinimum 7 years management experienceMinimum 10 years experience in Information Services/TechnologySkills and KnowledgeDemonstrated increase in responsibility working with a Financial Institution managing Core Banking Platforms like Hogan, FIS IBS, Fiserv SignatureDemonstrated experience in Product Builds – Cash Management, Savings, Deposit Products and PricingDemonstrated experience building teams – People, Culture, Succession Planning, Budget Management, Business AcumenDemonstrated technology modernization experience. Examples – Mainframe-Cobol/monoliths to microservicesDemonstrated development and automation experience on .NET, node.js, Apache, Java, Python, JavascriptDemonstrated development experience leveraging Secure DevOps pipeline including – GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, UDeploy and others.Demonstrated experience with Agile and Iterative delivery & tools such as Jira, Aha, othersAbility to work in fast-paced environment with ambiguity, changing prioritiesAbility to create an organization vision, mission and influence outcomesExcellent knowledge of data processing technology, especially in banking and financial systems.Comprehensive technical knowledge of functions in assigned department.Thorough knowledge of Bank policies and procedures.Excellent analytical, project management, tactical planning and managerial skills.Demonstrated leadership and excellent interpersonal skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Compensation

Starting base salary: $127,626 - $237,014 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
