Join our team to design, develop, and support Siemens’ vision for North American Rail Automation. You will collaborate with subject matter experts, architects, developers, and testers on the Siemens Back Office Server (BOS), a key component of the Positive Train Control (PTC) initiative. PTC is revolutionizing the rail transportation industry and will serve as a foundation for future technologies aimed at network optimization and autonomous rail networks. You will report to the Software Engineering Manager.What your day-to-day will look like:

Assist with requirements review, analysis, specification, verification and validation.Create, review, maintain, document and execute Test plans, Test cases and other Customer deliverable items.Adhere to established guidelines and processes to meet technical standards and ensure maintainability.Demonstrate leadership skills and communicate complex and technical concepts effectively, both in writing and verbally.Debug, troubleshoot, and isolate hardware and software issues.Identify work scope, estimate work efforts, and develop and maintain schedules for Test team.Work independently and as part of a team, supporting team decisions to promote consistency.Act as a role model and advisor to junior engineers.Manage and assist the test team in their daily activities, including reviewing validation feedback, approving Pull Requests, and merging them to the master repository in Git.Plan work for the test team based on sprints, deliver releases to customers, and estimate release dates based on defects and change requests.Participate in daily standup meetings, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning, and Client defect triage meetings.Verify external defects logged by customers, reproduce them in the Test Environment, and work closely with the Development Team.Be able to understand and run non-functional tests and requirement traceability matrix.Assist with tasks leading to validation of product performance.Be part of a 24x7x365 on-call rotation handling customer emergency support calls.To thrive in this role, you have:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer, or software engineering, or a related field.Proficiency in C++ programming.Proficiency in Unix environment and commands.Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.Excellent verbal communication, presentation, and technical writing skills.Willingness to travel up to 25%.Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

8-10 years of experience in systems/software development and testing and project leadership.Solid understanding of railroad software and systems.Experience with containers, cloud environments, scripting in Python/shell, and pipelines is a plus.Why you'll love working for Siemens!

. The base salary range for this position in Munhall, PA is $109,100 - $128,100.

The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.

The annual incentive target is 10% of the base salary.
