The Director of Organizational Development including Learning and Development is a strategic leader responsible for creating and executing programs that enhance employee growth, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness. This role plays a pivotal part in fostering a high-performance culture through innovative learning solutions, leadership coaching, and change management initiatives. The Director will partner with senior leadership to drive talent management strategies, ensure organizational readiness for the future, and promote a continuous learning environment that aligns with the company’s strategic goals.
The Director of OD is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing talent development programs that support employee growth and organizational success. This role leads initiatives in leadership development, training, talent management, performance improvement, and organizational effectiveness to drive a culture of continuous learning and development. This role will report to the Vice President of Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute a comprehensive L&D and OD strategy that aligns with the company’s overall business objectives and workforce development needs.
Collaborate with senior leadership globally to assess organizational development needs and develop programs that enhance leadership capabilities, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
Learning & Development Programs:
Lead the design, development, and implementation of learning programs across all levels, including leadership development, technical skills training, and soft skills development.
Oversee and assist in maintaining a steamlined New Hire Orientation and onboarding process with Talent Acquisition, Operations, and Hiring Managers
Ensure the creation of diverse learning modalities (e.g., in-person, online, blended learning) to address the varied needs of the workforce.
Oversee the assessment and continuous improvement of learning programs to ensure they meet organizational goals and enhance employee performance.
Global compliance trainings
Organizational Development & Change Management:
Lead organizational development initiatives, including cultural transformation, leadership alignment, and team effectiveness programs.
Develop and execute change management strategies that support major organizational changes, mergers, acquisitions, or restructuring initiatives.
Partner with senior leadership to diagnose organizational issues, conduct organizational assessments, and recommend solutions for improvement.
Leadership Development & Succession Planning:
Design and implement leadership development programs aimed at identifying and nurturing high-potential employees for succession into key roles.
Develop and maintain a robust succession planning process to ensure continuity in leadership and critical roles across the organization.
Talent & Performance Management:
Collaborate with HRBPs and business leaders to enhance talent management processes, including performance management, career development, and employee engagement.
Implement and manage competency frameworks, 360-degree feedback systems, and employee assessments to support performance development initiatives.
Learning Technology & Analytics:
Leverage learning management systems (LMS) and other digital learning technologies to deliver scalable and measurable L&D solutions.
Use data and analytics to assess the effectiveness of learning programs and organizational development initiatives, and adjust strategies as needed.
Provide leadership with regular reports on program effectiveness, employee engagement,and employee engagement surveys, (Great Place to Work) and the impact of L&D/OD efforts on business outcomes.
Coaching & Mentoring:
Develop and oversee executive coaching programs, mentoring initiatives, and peer-learning opportunities to foster leadership and professional growth.
Support leaders and managers with tools and resources to effectively coach their teams and foster a continuous learning culture.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI):
Partner with HR and business leaders to incorporate DEI principles into L&D and OD programs, ensuring diverse talent development and an inclusive culture.
Drive initiatives that promote cultural awareness, inclusive leadership, and equitable opportunities for all employees.
Qualifications:
Education:
Master’s degree or equivalent certification in Organizational Development, L&D, or related discipline preferred.
Experience:
8+ years of experience in Learning and Development, Organizational Development, or Talent Management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Proven experience in leading large-scale OD initiatives and learning programs in complex or global organizations.
Experience with designing and implementing leadership development programs, performance management systems, and succession planning processes.
Strong background in leading cultural transformation and change management initiatives.
Skills & Competencies:
Strategic thinker with the ability to design and execute comprehensive L&D and OD strategies aligned with business goals.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Expertise in instructional design, adult learning principles, and modern learning technologies (e.g., LMS, e-learning platforms).
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on data-driven solutions.
Experience with organizational diagnostics, change management frameworks, and culture-building initiatives.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Improvement in employee engagement and retention rates linked to development programs.
Leadership pipeline strength and successful internal promotions into key roles.
Measurable increases in employee performance and productivity as a result of learning initiatives.
Success of organizational change initiatives, as measured by adoption rates and cultural alignment.
Effectiveness of talent management and succession planning efforts, as demonstrated by reduced turnover in critical positions.

The Salary range for this position is $140,000 - $160,000 a year and will be commensurate with experience related to the position.
