A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from high school; andtwo and one half (2 ½) years of inspectional or investigative work experience involving the enforcement of laws, ordinances and/or rules and regulations;two and one half (2 ½) years of work experience related to pipeline installation or other related waterworks construction or installation; andone (1) year of work experience involving the inspection of pumping stations or treatment plants.License Requirement:

At the time of appointment, the candidate selected will need to possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.Knowledge of:

The methods, practices, materials, and tools used in the construction and installation of pumping stations, treatment plants and appurtenances, reservoirs, water mains, hydrants, storm drains, catch basins, bridges, pipelines, retaining walls and building, street, or highway construction; plans and specifications relating to a variety of construction projects; construction equipment and their proper use; accepted safety practices and procedures.Ability to:

Apply proper construction project inspectional methods and techniques; analyze construction problems and make decisions; determine quality of materials and workmanship through inspection and determine compliance with specifications; enforce codes and ordinances with good judgement, firmness, and impartiality; make estimates of work accomplished by contractors; keep records; prepare reports; deal tactfully and effectively with contractors and the general public.Tests:
