Training & Experience:

A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from high school; andtwo (2) years of journey level work experience in electronic maintenance operation which demonstrated competency to perform the journey level duties assigned to this class.License Requirement:

At the time of appointment, the candidate selected for hire will need to possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license, and a valid State of Hawai'i journey electrician's or industrial electrician's license.Knowledge of:

Digital computers and their use in programming and diagnosing electronic devices; principles and theories of electronics and electricity as they apply to the installation, maintenance, repair and modification of digital instruments and devices, digital telemetering and supervisory control equipment; operation and maintenance of various testing and measuring equipment and devices; tools and instruments used in repairing electrical and electronic equipment; basic principles of physics as it applies to telemeter and supervisory control systems; applicable governmental laws, rules and regulations; occupational hazards and safety practices.Ability to:

Use digital computers to program electronic equipment and diagnose electronic equipment; read, interpret, and prepare plans and schematic diagrams of electrical and electronic circuits; estimate time, labor, and material requirements; diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic defects in equipment and appurtenances; use digital testing and measuring equipment and devices; follow oral and written instructions; operate machine tools and rewind motors; keep records.Tests:

Pay raises are negotiated by the respective union for this position. This position is part of bargaining unit 1, United Public Workers (UPW).Paid Vacation Time:
