Velocity is seeking to hire a
DevOps Engineer I . The DevOps Engineer I is responsible for deploying, managing, and optimizing system resources with a focus on cloud services while utilizing automation technologies. They have a deep understanding of systems architecture, containerization, and orchestration tools. They possess experience developing and implementing automation processes to streamline operations and ensure consistent deployments of application systems.This is a full-time remote opportunity.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with development and operations teams to design, deploy, and manage application deploymentsBuild and manage containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and other orchestration toolsDevelop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment and configuration management processesMonitor and analyze system performance, identify and troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and scalabilityImplement and manage continuous integration and delivery pipelines to automate software delivery and deploymentDevelop and maintain infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform or CloudFormationEnsure compliance with security and regulatory policies and proceduresParticipate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7/365 support for production systemsWrite and maintain deployment documentation including diagrams, directions, and best practicesResearch and investigate emerging infrastructure technologies and how those may be leveraged to enhance the deployment of company application systemsQualifications, Experience and Education:
Minimum Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in technology-related area or equivalent work experience.2+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or a related fieldStrong understanding of cloud-native architectures, containerization, and orchestration toolsStrong experience deploying and managing a plethora of application systemsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or ChefProficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShellKnowledge of version control systems such as GitExperience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCPFamiliarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stackAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsWhy you’ll love working at Velocity:
