Green Mountain Power is seeking an experienced information security professional/operator to help manage and develop its enterprise-wide security architecture, compliance, and security awareness initiatives. This role will act as a mentor to other team members, develop processes and runbooks, and contribute to enhancing the team's overall toolkit. This position engages in hands-on administration of firewalls, IDS, IPS, EDR, AV, and other hardware-based systems, and includes risk management, policy development, and event monitoring duties-including evangelizing and perpetuating a security-centric culture throughout the business.
The Senior Cyber Security Operator interacts frequently with a wide variety of internal and external customers, vendors, and leadership, and provides direct support and subject matter expertise to an advanced team of administrators, systems architects, and developers.
Required Skills & Experience
8-10 years of demonstrable experience managing security tasks in an enterprise-scale computing environment, including strong TCP/IP theory, firewall administration, encryption, and application security knowledge, in addition to familiarity with hacker techniques, exploits, and countermeasures is needed. Individuals possessing SANS, OSCP, ISC2 CISSP, or similar certifications is preferred. An advanced degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Forensics, or similar field, is desirable but may be substituted with relevant experience.Cultural Fit- We look for a positive attitude, natural aptitude, and a strong work ethic as key attributes in our candidates.
