From sustainable transportation to advanced semiconductors, from satellite systems to life-saving medical devices, the next great leaps in human advancement will be powered by Ansys.Innovate With Ansys, Power Your Career.Summary / Role PurposeAnsys's Chief Technologist Hi-Tech APAC will work with APAC sales and will support the sales leaders in APAC with building executive relationships at various customers in the Hi-Tech vertical and across all five verticals in APAC. In this role, the person will support and complement the Ansys CTO's engagement with various customers at a CXO level in the Hi-Tech vertical across geographies. In addition, the person will support the Ansys CTO's external thought leadership activities by developing content for presentations that show the value of simulation-based product innovation in the Hi-Tech vertical for medical tech companies, medical equipment companies, and pharma companies. The person will also be responsible for working with the Extended CTO team in developing the Ansys long-term technology strategy based on customers' long-term business priorities in the high-tech vertical across all geographies.The Chief Technologist Hi-Tech APAC is a results-based business executive capable of growing market share in the high-tech industry.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesEngage with CXO level executives and drive executive alignment with our customers and partners and help support our sales and partnership organization. Be the Chief Technologist for the Hi-Tech industry for the World Wide sales organization across all geographies; leverage their rolodex of contacts in the High-tech industry to help open doors in our customers. Support and complement the Ansys CTO's engagement with various customers at a CXO level in the high-tech vertical across geographies.Work with the ACE organization and external partners in developing solutions and applications in their respective industries as part of our pervasive insights vision. Work with the global ACE/TAM team to document existing and develop new application briefs/solutions specific to the Hi-Tech industry. Work with the sales team to identify whitespace opportunities for their high-tech customers utilizing the heatmap. Analyze the TRR results for projects on existing solutions with high-tech ACE/TAM team to identify solution gaps; work with BU teams to close these high-tech specific gaps in future solution/product releases.Work with the product organization to take requirements from these respective industries and help support future product R&D directions in collaboration with ACE. Work with the industry marketing team to drive marketing activities in each of these verticals. Work with marketing to create compelling collateral and messaging for high-tech solutions for sales and ACE/TAM organization.Work with the Extended CTO team in developing the Ansys long-term technology strategy based on customers' long-term business priorities in the high-tech vertical across all geographies.Consolidate existing relationships and expand Ansys's reach within multiple parts of the partner organization and the utilization of Ansys's products and services in the Hi-Tech vertical. Take the lead in solving the problems that arise during the execution of programs with GTM partners.Attend BU solution planning, partner, and M&A reviews on behalf of the Hi-Tech vertical; help drive the long-term Ansys product and solution strategy to support the high-tech industry vertical. Work with sales enablement office on vertical processes on behalf of the CTO office.Support the Ansys CTO's external thought leadership activities by developing content for presentations that show the value of simulation-based product innovation in the high-tech vertical.Work with a team of chief technologists across the five verticals (Hi-Tech, aerospace, high-tech, aerospace and defense, semiconductor and high tech) across the three geographies, and the different product lines and business units.Report to the VP of Field CTO and interact with GTM senior management and executives to indicate the status of the vertical strategy progress, execution, and market share.Understands the importance of leading, hiring, and keeping A-players. A leader who can also act as a player/coach who works closely with the team. Understands that cultivating the teaming dynamic is as crucial. Facilitates sourcing, qualifying, and closing top talent to the vertical. Keenly focused on engaging and keeping existing A-players, focused on commitment to career pathing and skill development for their employees.Translates goals into operational reality. Breaks down strategic priorities or business initiatives into key tasks and identifies accountabilities. Aligns internal resources and stakeholders globally to ensure effective implementation and delivery of required results.Stays ahead of industry trends. Constantly looking for new solutions to customer challenges. Aware of innovations at Ansys and finds ways to leverage them for specific vertical practice.Positioning Ansys as a "thought leader" in people-based marketing and accomplishes that by forming and advocating a strong point of view, sharing internally/externally in articles and speaking engagements, and encouraging the team to do so as well.Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Engineering, related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.A minimum of 12 years of management experience.Deep experience in the Hi-Tech industry in APAC.Capacity to think strategically to identify issues and develop long-term solutions.Demonstrated project management skills.A strategic thinker who possesses exceptional analytical, consultative, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Strong business acumen, financial, analytical, and critical thinking skills, attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to effectively communicate with all levels, including Board of Directors and Executive Leaders.Creates a sense of urgency and is energized by speed.Proven ability to attract, develop, engage, and retain a high-caliber team of professionals.Preferred Qualifications and SkillsMaster's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.Mastery in delivering innovative technical solutions for large-scale commercial products.Experience driving a vertical roadmap across multiple development teams.Ability to disseminate complex information in a clear way to customers, sales teams, and stakeholders.At Ansys, we know that changing the world takes vision, skill, and each other.
