Boarhog has an immediate opening for a Software Engineer to join our Mission Management (MM) team developing high quality software applications to handle resource management, system security, health monitoring, and status awareness as foundational tools for a signal processing platform.

This role requires a Top Secret with SCI eligible DoD security clearance , and an understanding of software development and system integration through employing front-end and back-end technologies while leveraging DevSecOps tooling to deliver automated mission management capabilities.This Software Engineer role is in support of the U.S. Navy's Spectral Program, a seven-year $1.2B program to provide the Navy's next-generation signals intelligence, electronic warfare, and information operations software technologies. The Spectral system is critical to the ability for our forces to fight and win in the increasingly sophisticated and complex cyber and electronic threats of our adversaries.What You’ll Get to Do:You will develop and deploy core enabling technologies for the cloud enabled combat systems that make up Spectral, leveraging the most advanced software technologies available. Spectral is not only delivering ground-breaking capabilities to the warfighter today, but also building a modular distributed architecture that allows the system to rapidly evolve, deploy, and adapt to scale multi-echelon operations.You will collaborate in creative solutioning and thinking outside the box to solve manual pain points for the warfighter through innovative engineering and rapid deployment of software running in production. You will develop software technologies and leverage first class tooling to generate high availability, low latency, fault tolerance, and scalability across multi-echelon distributed environments. You will collaborate with senior developers to design, develop, and maintain software solutions. As a software engineer, you will work on new features and enhancements contributing to distributed environments and positively impact the Spectral system.More About the Role:As a Software Engineer with Boarhog, you will have the opportunity to build and deploy high quality software applications that directly impact the Navy’s employment of Spectral Mission Management and Support Services. The Mission Management team provides the powerful Spectral capabilities to be used across multiple platforms, and to share information with remote sites dramatically expanding the power of the Spectral system. This is a hybrid position, with more than half work being accomplished remotely with the rest done in Austin Texas or Chantilly Virginia SCIFs. Some of the current MM team commute from San Antonio and Houston Texas.Our Software Engineers work within an Agile development team leveraging scaled agile practices to rapidly deliver incremental software solutions to our customer’s, focused on ideation, development, quality, deployment, and sustainment of high-quality software products. This position is for highly motivated software developer, with remote and hybrid work, who will perform key responsibilities such as:Develop, test, and maintain software applications according to Spectral requirements, and program standards.Collaborate with senior engineers on system requirements, identify solutions, and contribute to software design solutions.Generate clean, efficient, and maintainable code using programming languages and frameworks aligned with the Spectral tech stack.Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers to ensure high-quality code adherence standards.Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing applications to improve performance, reliability, and scalability.Deploy modular software applications with CI/CD integration to distributed environments.You’ll Bring These Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Three (3) to five (5) years of professional experience in software development.Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java) and familiarity with relevant frameworks.Familiarity with API development and RESTful services.Solid understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, DevSecOps) and best practices.Experience working with databases and understanding basic database design principles (SQL, NoSQL).Familiarity with front-end and back-end development technologies (React, Node.js, Django).Knowledge of version control systems (Git) and experience with collaborative development practices such as merge requests, pull requests, code reviews.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug and troubleshoot complex issues.Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment.An active, or ability to acquire, a Top Secret/SCI DoD Security Clearance.These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure).Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Docker).Experience with DevSecOps practices, tools, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins).Exposure to automated testing frameworks and test-driven development.Understanding of software security best practices.Boarhog has over twelve years of defense industrial base steady, controlled growth and profitability, offering our full-time associates a remarkable package, including:Very competitive salary and near term opportunities for promotion and additional compensation.Medical / Dental / Vision Health Benefits.Environment of Self-Determination.Company 401K contribution.Health savings account.Vacation.Stipend for residing in a HUBZone location (https://maps.certify.sba.gov/hubzone/map).Relocation or small signing bonus, and earned performance bonus.We thrive in a welcoming, family-like culture within a completely flat organization, with a vested interest in associates' personal and professional goals and aspirations.
