Bilingual Adjunct Fellow - Climate in District of Columbia, United States
Adima Data Management is looking for a Bilingual Adjunct Fellow- Climate to work in the Washington DC area.ResponsibilitiesEducate participants about the scientific and meteorological causes of global warming through in-residence courses and seminars at the Perry Center in Washington DC; in-region conferences; or international discussions with partner nation representatives.Consult with practitioners and conduct science needs assessments by translating the climate information needs of community leaders into viable and effective climate mitigation plans.Develop climate change research and publications (reports, web content, briefing papers, and fact sheets) for diverse audiences.Communicate science findings and assessments to diverse non-academic audiences, including governments and policy makers.Work with partner nation government officials and members of civil society to mitigate threats posed by climate change and global warming.Advise partner nation governments on adapting to the effects of climate change, including transitioning to clean energy systems and upgrading critical infrastructure.Identify interagency efforts to combat climate change.Collaborate with armed forces to prepare for climate-related disasters.Examine ways to increase regional cooperation in the face of worsening climate conditions.Possess excellent communication and writing skills, including synthesizing scientific literature.Demonstrate familiarity with climate science and climate change impacts.Able to convene and organize meetings and workshops.Demonstrate knowledge of or experience with climate resilience planning and implementation.QualificationsFour plus (4+) years of professional experience as a subject matter expert on climate change issues.Ability to speak and write Spanish and English is required.Master's degree in the field of climatology, earth sciences, or environmental sciences or equivalent degree.Doctorate degree in a related field is preferred.Language requirements: English and Spanish fluency required; Portuguese language skills are desired.Occasional travel within the continental United States and throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.Pay Range190,000.00Regular - The company offers a comprehensive benefits program, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), and a range of other voluntary benefits.
