EVOLVEIMMUNE THERAPEUTICS INC
Principal Scientist, Immunobiology
EVOLVEIMMUNE THERAPEUTICS INC, Branford, Connecticut, us, 06405
Who We Are:
EvolveImmune Therapeutics is a next-generation, development-stage immune-oncology company which is developing novel trispecific T cell engagers with integrated CD2 costimulation to optimize anti-tumor immunity to overcome the therapeutic challenges of cancer cell resistance. Our lead program based on our EVOLVE therapeutic platform will enter the clinic in 2025. We conduct our R&D, including internal protein engineering and biotherapeutics discovery, immunobiology and translational sciences, at our dedicated, state-of-the-art laboratories located in Branford, CT.
The Role:
The company seeks an entrepreneurial, industry-experienced, and immunology-focused drug program leader in our Immunobiology team. Extensive experience in T cell engager drug development, including CD3 bispecifics or costimulation immunotherapies, is essential. Including experience in lead assessment through tumor killing, cytokine production, T cell exhaustion assays, and multiparameter flow cytometry immune cell analysis is required.
The successful candidate will lead program specific immunobiology drug development team activities from discovery to candidate nomination. This includes designing and implementing functional in vitro human assay systems for successful lead prioritization, selecting preclinical models to support translational precision strategies, and initiating immunobiology exploration into mechanisms of differentiation. They will also work closely with our biotherapeutics, in vivo pharmacology, and translational research teams to drive candidate nomination efforts and IND-enabling studies. Managing interactions of specific academic or corporate partners and immunobiology activities of broader external research partnerships are also key aspects of this role. Experience in leading T cell engager therapeutic research and development programs is required. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must, as is a proven track record of scientific and project achievements in biopharma.
We are looking for a candidate who enjoys working in a team and can leverage the growth opportunities that a matrixed environment provides. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone who is excited about drug discovery and is driven to translate these discoveries to novel therapeutics.
Responsibilities:
Working closely with our protein design and engineering colleagues, establish functional
ex vivo
and
in vivo
studies to evaluate protein therapeutics and establish data-driven decisions for drug lead and candidate selection.
Oversee functional immune co-culture assays, including mixed lymphocyte reaction, T cell-tumor cell cytotoxicity assays, and other phenotypic assessments of genetically modified immune cells to identify phenotypes associated with a knockout or genetic modification of genes of interest.
Develop and execute target expression assessment and functional studies with patient samples to delineate differentiation opportunities for emerging and selected lead molecules.
Working closely with our
in vivo
pharmacology team to design studies to evaluate drug candidate
in vivo
characteristics such as drug distribution properties, pharmacokinetic profile, early safety readouts, and disease state modifications in murine and humanized cancer models.
Mentor and manage team members to ensure that team members keep detailed records of experiments in electronic notebooks, analyze data, and prepare and deliver high quality presentations to research team members and our executive leadership team members.
Qualifications and Experience:
PhD in Immunology or related field with postdoctoral experience and 4+ years of industry experience
Experience in T cell engager immunotherapies in a drug development setting, including technical experience in assaying tumor killing, cytokine release and immune cell function
ex vivo
and
in vivo .
Technical expertise to assist team members in performing multi-color flow cytometry and Fluorescence Assisted Cell Sorting (FACS).
Proven ability to manage drug discovery and development teams as demonstrated by a strong publication, patent, and/or drug development record in T cell engager therapies.
EvolveImmune will provide a competitive compensation package based on the candidate's experience level.
EvolveImmune Therapeutics, Inc. is an equal-opportunity employer.
