Phoenix Processor LP manages an at sea fish processor from our Seattle office. Established in 1988, we have a reputation for producing top quality fish products sold in the domestic and international market.We are in need of an organized, efficient and qualified Staff Accountant to join our Finance Department. This position will be responsible for payroll and accounts payable processing, database maintenance, journal entries, and reconciliations to ensure the success of finance related directives, projects and initiatives.Primary Responsibilities:Manage accounts payable in a paperless system, including 1099 maintenance, vendor statements follow-up, and vendor inquiriesPrioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment termsMatch invoices to checks, obtain approvals and signatures, and distribute checks as requestedProcess bi-weekly payrollProcess wage garnishments and deductions from payrollProcess accurate and timely year-end reportingPayroll journal entriesProcess on-demand check requestsAR invoice postingGeneral ledger reconciliations and small monthly bank statementsAssist Finance Department with other related tasksMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience2+ years experience with general ledger accountingThorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable and general ledger systems and procedures, financial charts of accounts and corporate proceduresSage Business/300 experience preferredADP experience preferredStrong computer skills, specifically proficiency with Excel required (Vlookup and pivot tables)Must be well organized with excellent attention to detailAbility to multi-task is essentialAbility to deal sensitively with confidential material essentialStrong communication skills both verbal and writtenComprehensive benefits plan including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401K with match, etc.
