We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President & Controller to join our team. This key leadership role will oversee all accounting operations and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for our organization. This is a hybrid position based in Downtown Manhattan with a starting annual salary range of $180,000 - $200,000 and an annual incentive opportunity targeting 20%.The American Arbitration Association (AAA) is the leading provider of arbitration and mediation dispute resolution services, and has consistently been named one of the 50 best non-profits to work for by the Non-Profit Times. You will maintain compliance with US GAAP and other regulatory requirements while focusing on internal controls, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payrollEnsure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processesOversee the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and regulatory requirementsMaintain a system of internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial statementsLead the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditorsOversee international accounting operations and acquisition accounting processesLead, develop, and mentor a high-performing accounting team of 10-15 membersIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operationsEducation & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related disciplineCPA designation required10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in a leadership roleExperience with international accounting and acquisition accounting preferredKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems such as NetSuite or SAPProficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PowerPointExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong problem-solving abilities and sound judgmentAbility to lead and manage a team effectivelyAdditional Information

This role requires regular, reliable, and predictable job attendanceAttendance at on-site and in-person meetings and training sessions is expectedSupervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, and managing 2-5 direct reports within a larger team of 10-15
