Position SummaryTHE FOCUS IS YOUAs a Tax Principal, you will assume a strategic leadership role, driving the growth and excellence of our tax practice. You will provide visionary guidance, manage high-level client relationships, and shape innovative tax strategies. Your extensive experience in tax advisory, team leadership, and business development will play a pivotal role in elevating our firm's reputation as a premier tax service provider.WHAT YOU WILL DORegular duties include (but are not limited to):Tax Strategy and Engagement OversightDevelop cutting-edge tax planning strategies that leverage industry insights and regulatory expertise.Provide visionary insights in areas such as tax optimization, risk management, and emerging tax trends.Review and oversee the preparation of tax returns to ensure accuracy, compliance with regulations, and adherence to internal quality control standards.Monitor and manage tax filing deadlines, extensions, and other compliance requirements to avoid penalties and ensure timely submissions.Manage engagement progress, budgets, and deadlines, making strategic adjustments as required.Research and AnalysisStay abreast of evolving tax laws, regulations, and industry developments, applying this knowledge to client engagements and internal training initiatives.Provide expert guidance on complex tax scenarios, research inquiries, and emerging compliance trends.Client CommunicationFoster and nurture high-level client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor for complex tax matters.Lead client meetings, understand their financial objectives, and develop tailored tax strategies that align with their goals.Team CollaborationLead, inspire, and mentor a team of seasoned tax professionals, encouraging a culture of collaboration, growth, and excellence.Provide guidance, continuous learning opportunities, and support to facilitate the team's professional advancement.Process Improvement and InnovationLead process improvement initiatives to enhance tax workflows, methodologies, and quality control procedures.Shape and execute the tax practice's strategic vision, aligning with the firm's broader goals.Implement innovations that improve efficiency, accuracy, and client satisfaction.Strategic Business DevelopmentDrive the firm's business development efforts by identifying new opportunities, nurturing client leads, and expanding service offerings.Play a key role in proposal development, client presentations, and strategic Managing Director initiatives.Collaborate with executive leadership to drive projects that enhance the firm's market presence and competitive edge.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORRequired Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.15+ years of relevant experience.10+ years of progressive tax leadership experience in a CPA firm or related professional service environment.CPA license.Specific positions may require additional industry or specialization certifications.Responsible for completing the minimum CPE credit requirement.Software: CCH Prosystem FH, Axcess Tax, Axcess Document, Axcess Workstream, Thomson Reuters Fixed Assets CS, Checkpoint for Tax Research.Preferred Education and ExperienceAdvanced degree (Master's) or additional relevant certifications.Juris Doctor (JD) degree for specialty positions.TravelTravel may be frequent and unpredictable, depending on client’s needs.WHO WE AREREADY TO DELIVERWe take pride in our ability to combine local knowledge with national, regional, and international skills to provide you and your organization with the best resources possible.
