About Us: Fable Therapeutics (Fable) is a discovery-stage biotechnology company which develops non-cell-based therapeutic response where and when it matters. Fable is powered by state-of-the-art structure and sequence-based protein language models. Founded by leading ML scientists and veteran biotech entrepreneurs together with top-tier venture capital firms, Fable has recently initiated its internal therapeutic pipeline and has enacted a growing list of pharma research collaborations. Backed by a 2024 $40M Series A investment co-led by Versant Ventures and DCVC, Fable is positioned to lead in the purposeful integration of biology and computation to solve complex medical challenges. Fable’s aspiration is to write the next chapter of what protein-based therapeutics can do. Description: We are seeking a highly talented and motivated scientist to join our growing team and conduct

in vivo

studies for drug discovery. In close collaboration with our machine learning team, the experiments you design and the data you provide will also be used to train state-of-the-art machine learning models. Your hands-on experience with

in vivo

studies (e.g., target engagement, PK/PD,

in vivo

efficacy, metabolic biomarker measurement) for antibody and biologics characterization using a variety of techniques is needed. With your enthusiasm and teamwork, you will have the chance to learn and collaborate with other bench scientists and with machine learning scientists (dry-lab) as part of our multi-disciplinary approach to discover and develop precision engineered drug candidates. Working flexibly this will also be a great opportunity to learn and broaden your experience and skills. Come work in a friendly and high-motivation atmosphere and help build our team. This is an on-site role. Flexible working hours to promote a balance between productivity and wellness can be accommodated with manager approval. Responsibilities: Executing diverse

in vivo

experiments (glucose metabolism, behavioral assays, muscle physiology, or similar) and managing necessary animal welfare requirements. Flexibly learn and contribute for a variety of

in vivo

metabolic disease models for screening and characterization of candidate molecules. Assist in writing

in vivo

study protocols, coordinating, and initiating preclinical studies in CROs. Analyze and present data and conclusions to colleagues from a variety of backgrounds. Contribute to building and establishing the

In Vivo

Pharmacology laboratory capabilities. Help teach colleagues as part of building a collaborative team. About You: BSc with 5-10 years or MSc with 3-5 years industry experience. Hands-on experience with preclinical models of metabolic diseases is preferred. Previous experience in antibody and biologics discovery is a plus. Experience with animal model development in metabolic diseases area and establishment of

ex vivo

assays to measure metabolic disease biomarker. Hands-on experience administering drug treatments through various routes (e.g.

i.v.,

i.p. ,

SQ , PO dosing). Hands-on experience collecting blood and harvesting animal tissues from mice for downstream analysis. Understand and execute

in vivo

study protocols, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements for compliance with IACUC guidelines. Hands-on experience with molecular, cellular, and

ex vivo

biological techniques and assays such as ELISA, western blot, and glucose measurement. Troubleshooting methodological and technical issues, interpreting experimental data and literature, and communicating results to diverse groups of individuals. Computer literacy, especially proficiency with GraphPad Prism, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and electronic notebook. Analyze experimental data and document them in detail using an electronic notebook. Strong sense of initiative and interest in learning new technologies and addressing disease-relevant biology. Enjoy collaborating with diverse scientists in both the wet-lab and dry-lab. At Fable Therapeutics, we know that our people drive our success. We are an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity and inclusion. Fable Therapeutics provides an open, collegial, and friendly work environment where we empower people and provide them with opportunities to develop their long-term careers.
