The CAAS Senior Management Consultant serves as the key Trusted Advisor for accounting and advisory clients of the firm. This position relies heavily on the financial reporting efforts of all reporting staff positions and is at the same time responsible for managing and mentoring the CAAS team.The CAAS Senior Management Consultant is responsible for managing engagements within the CAAS division and for leading a profitable functional area of the practice - leading the team, building the business, and ensuring the team delivers exceptional client service. This role also supports the business development and growth initiatives of the practice and is responsible for retaining talented people through strong leadership and coaching/mentoring relationships.Roles and Responsibilities:Ability to lead a profitable work team, including managing scheduling and execution of ongoing engagements.Exceptional client relationship skills.Leadership and project management skills, including the ability to successfully coach and mentor talented people.Technical expertise and specialization within an industry serviced by the firm.Maintain direct relationship with assigned clients and meets with each client quarterly at minimum, monthly in most cases.Budgeting & forecasting, cash flow and other strategic planning with the client.Maintains and assist with relationships with client’s professional team (attorneys, insurance, and financial).Ongoing consulting with clients on budgeting, resource management, and team supervision.Management of new client implementation and assessments.Personal Participation & Professional Development:Remains current with best practices and trends within an industry serviced by the firm.Provides recommendations regarding ways to improve processes.Actively participates in self-development activities and works with circle leaders to develop and monitor appropriate and challenging goals.Demonstrate understanding of departmental goals and responsibilities.Display good analytical, problem solving, and technical skills in completing assignments.Demonstrate initiative to maintain productivity.Respond positively to corrective feedback and suggestions.Provides upward feedback.Demonstrates an understanding of the importance of cooperation and teamwork through daily interactions with co-workers by maintaining positive working relationships with other team members and displaying an attitude of helpfulness, a focus on team success, and the consideration of the ideas of others.Knowledge and skills should increase with experience. Willingness to accept increasing levels of responsibility.Actively participates in firm provided Training and Development resources.Required Education and Experience:Possess a solid understanding of accounting principles and concepts.Working knowledge of accounting systems, industry specialization a plus.Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity.General knowledge and understanding of full-cycle accounting processes and payroll and related taxes.Essential and effective verbal and written communication skills.A bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or a related field is required. An MBA or CPA is preferred.7-10 years of experience in private/public accounting working with clients in the $1-$10 million in revenues per year range. Some experience working with clients with annual revenues up to $50 million or more preferred.Relevant professional certification(s) preferred.Ability to build productive cross-functional, collaborative working relationships and team player.Experience working in a paperless environment strongly preferred.Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.Understanding of basic business skills and standard office technology.General and growing knowledge of firm products and services in the practice area, and a general knowledge of products and services in other practice areas (tax and assurance).Working Conditions:Regular office hours are generally 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday. Overtime and weekends are required periodically to meet the responsibilities of this role.
