GHJ’s relationship with our Global Advisory and Accounting Network provides the resources needed to better understand client’s needs, attract a higher caliber of candidates and assess candidate potential.We are seeking a mission-driven Controller to oversee the financial & accounting operations of a highly-respected $50m nonprofit organization in Los Angeles.Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller will oversee all financial, accounting, and reporting activities of the agency. This includes all day-to-day finance operations, functional responsibility for accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash and investment accounts, and preparation of monthly Financial Statements.Experience managing LA County Department of Mental Health (DMH) contracts is required.Responsibilities

Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirementsOversee all financial, project/program accounting to ensure that all allocated funds are expended as planned and program resources are allocated beneficiallyEnsure expenditures are consistently aligned with grant and program requirements, restrictions, and budgets throughout the grant/fund periodIdentify and address inefficiencies in practices, software, and work flowsTrack and report on current asset accounts, reserves accounts and lines of credit to ensure adequate liquidityQualifications

7+ years of accounting or finance experienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting or related fieldLA County Department of Mental Health (DMH) contracts experience is required
