We are seeking a mission-driven Controller to oversee the financial & accounting operations of a highly-respected $50m nonprofit organization in Los Angeles.
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller will oversee all financial, accounting, and reporting activities of the agency. This includes all day-to-day finance operations, functional responsibility for accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash and investment accounts, and preparation of monthly Financial Statements.
Experience managing LA County Department of Mental Health (DMH) contracts is required.
Responsibilities
Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements Oversee all financial, project/program accounting to ensure that all allocated funds are expended as planned and program resources are allocated beneficially Ensure expenditures are consistently aligned with grant and program requirements, restrictions, and budgets throughout the grant/fund period Identify and address inefficiencies in practices, software, and work flows Track and report on current asset accounts, reserves accounts and lines of credit to ensure adequate liquidity Qualifications
7+ years of accounting or finance experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field LA County Department of Mental Health (DMH) contracts experience is required
