This role will own the cost and revenue accounting for Amazon’s internal logistic last mile/middle mile network, a complicated and dynamic multi-billion-dollar network that has grown exponentially since 2018. The network is expected to continue to grow at an unprecedented pace, indicating significant growth opportunities for learning and career development. The scope includes all internal logistic related business, such as Delivery Service Providers, Flex drivers, Delivery stations, Sort Centers, Aircraft, air hubs/gateway, and fleet management. We are seeking an accounting manager to execute various accounting tasks, project launches, automation projects, technical accounting, and worldwide standardization to support this fast-growing network globally.
Key job responsibilitiesThis role requires a self-starter with analytical abilities and the capability to navigate ambiguous situations with limited guidance. Excellent communication and project management skills are essential for collaboration with key stakeholders across finance, controllership, accounting, FBI team, tech, and business partners. The ideal candidate will own all close related activities, lead project launches including both business launch and tech automation, draft accounting memos, research technical accounting guidance, and ensure that all SOX requirements are up-to-date for key processes and controls. This candidate should exhibit a strong sense of ownership, excellent problem-solving skills, and effective communication skills both verbally and in writing. Furthermore, the candidate should continuously improve processes and drive change where needed to ensure that the team maintains the highest level of efficiency and effectiveness for work performed. The person is also expected to understand internal control and related SOX requirements, ensuring all processes/controls function as intended and that all new/growing businesses are properly assessed from a control perspective. This person should also act as the global lead of the transportation as the business continues to expand globally and collaborate with all international counterparts for standardization.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related fieldPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- CPA- Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency- Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification- Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients- Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusionsAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
