About the role
Dr. Schulze’s American Botanical Pharmacy is a leader in the natural health and wellness industry. We are seeking a talented Creative Manager who aligns with the Company’s mission and wants to make a difference by supporting the Creative Services Department in realizing our vision for a healthier world. The main goal of the role is to produce quality design work that matches the premium quality of our products, on time and on budget.
The Chief of Staff will serve as a strategic partner and right hand to the CEO, providing critical support in managing the overall operations, growth initiatives, and organizational priorities of the company. This individual will act as a trusted advisor, ensuring that the CEO’s time is leveraged effectively, and company objectives are aligned with the vision for growth in the herbal supplement market. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional with a deep understanding of both business strategy and the wellness industry, capable of driving cross-functional initiatives and operational efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning & Execution:
○ Partner with the CEO to translate the company’s vision and strategic priorities into actionable plans.
○ Ensure that initiatives and projects are aligned with long-term goals, managing the tracking and follow-up to keep momentum.
○ Identify and assess new opportunities for business development, product innovation, and market expansion within the herbal supplement industry.
2. Executive Decision Support:
○ Provide decision-making support to the CEO by conducting research, analyzing data, and preparing presentations or reports.
○ Act as a sounding board for new ideas and provide insights that help the CEO make informed business decisions.
3. Operational Oversight:
○ Collaborate with department heads to ensure that key operational functions are running smoothly.
○ Monitor KPIs and performance metrics across departments, ensuring timely reporting to the CEO on operational health and business performance.
○ Lead or participate in cross-functional meetings to drive results, resolve roadblocks, and facilitate communication between teams.
4. Project & Initiative Management:
○ Take ownership of key company projects from conception to execution, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
○ Drive operational improvements and efficiencies across the organization, ensuring best practices are implemented.
5. Team Leadership & Culture Building:
○ Foster a positive, collaborative work environment that aligns with the company’s mission and values.
○ Mentor and develop emerging leaders within the organization, ensuring talent growth and succession planning.
6. Communication & Stakeholder Management:
○ Act as a liaison between the CEO and internal/external stakeholders, ensuring clear, consistent communication.
○ Represent the CEO in meetings, events, or external engagements when necessary, acting as a key spokesperson for the company.
7. CEO Prioritization & Calendar Management:
○ Oversee the CEO’s calendar, managing the prioritization of meetings, travel, and engagements to ensure time is focused on high-impact activities.
○ Filter and prioritize incoming requests, ensuring the CEO is briefed and prepared for all engagements.
Qualifications:
● Experience:
○ 7-10 years of experience in a leadership or strategic role, preferably in the wellness, natural products, or consumer goods sectors.
○ Previous experience as a Chief of Staff, Strategy Director, or in a senior operations role is preferred.
● Skills & Abilities:
○ Strong business acumen with a proven ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams.
○ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
○ High emotional intelligence and discretion in handling sensitive information.
○ Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
○ Project management expertise, with experience overseeing the successful implementation of strategic initiatives.
○ Ability to work under pressure, prioritize competing demands, and meet deadlines.
● Education:
○ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or related field (MBA preferred).
● Industry Knowledge:
○ Familiarity with the herbal supplement or wellness industry, including trends, regulations, and customer needs, is a strong advantage.
