Amenities:
Phase 1 of the Holcomb Family YMCA was completed in December of 2021. This unique and innovative center completed amenities including a 12,000-square-foot pavilion with turf, multi-purpose court for basketball, pickleball and other sports. In addition, there is a one-of-a-kind outdoor fitness center, large multi-purpose sports fields and a shipping container village which accommodates various YMCA programs. Phase 2 of the Holcomb Family YMCA was completed in March of 2024. This phase was focused on the construction of an aquatics center featuring a pool with eight lanes and two additional teaching lanes.
Operational Budget:
With an operational budget of $1MM, we have the resources needed to maintain and enhance our facility, invest in staff development, and expand our community outreach efforts.
Membership Units:
With 1,600 membership units, we proudly serve 6,000 members who benefit from our comprehensive health and wellness offerings.
Annual Fundraising Goal:
Every year, we set an ambitious fundraising goal to support scholarships and community outreach programs. Join our team and be part of our successful fundraising efforts. In 2024, The Holcomb Family YMCA hit their goal of $45,000.

Our fitness programs and wellness initiatives empower members to lead healthier lifestyles. The Holcomb Family YMCA boasts brand new fitness equipment in an outdoor environment, a fitness airnasium, and a personal training program.

We are deeply committed to giving back to the community through volunteer opportunities, and partnerships with local organizations.

Position Overview:
The Center Executive Director at the YMCA of Greater Houston is a leadership role responsible for driving the organization’s mission and values within the local community. This position plays a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing the YMCA’s impact on the well-being of individuals and families through a diverse range of programs and services.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business or equivalent.
Four or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other not-for-profit agency.
Ability to direct operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of center budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Financial management expertise, including budget development and oversight.
Ability to quickly build rapport and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in strategic planning and execution.
Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations.
Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
YMCA Multi-Team or Center Leader certification preferred.
CPR and First Aid certifications may be required.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises full-time exempt and non-exempt employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; reviewing and approving timesheets; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; monitoring and updating all required staff certifications; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Computer Literacy:
Skills are essential in all of the Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Access. Ability to use these programs to lighten workload, develop reports and automate procedures is very necessary. Ability to diagnose basic PC problems and to communicate those problems is very important.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Flexible with scheduling and availability to work operational hours of the YMCA and sites, which may include day, evenings and weekends.

Travel is primarily local between assigned centers during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
