While maintaining its leadership in broadcast television (9-1-1: Lone Star, The Simpsons, The Cleaning Lady, Hell’s Kitchen, LEGO Masters), the company is actively building a portfolio of businesses and library of owned original content.JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Senior Vice President, Development will be responsible for leading and executing the creative strategy for FOX Entertainment Studios. Reporting into the Executive Vice President, Scripted – FOX Entertainment Studios, the Senior Vice President, Development will supervise the development of new scripted content, from concept to execution. They will also oversee the creative activities related to the tracking, soliciting, procurement, evaluation, development, and oversight of the Studio shows. The Senior Vice President, Development will ensure that the FOX network has a pipeline of content that is additive and impactful with talent that resonates, and will also bring Talent, IP, and Buyer relationships that will grow our 3rd party business.A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESCreate/develop quality series for the FOX network and 3rd party buyersAggressively source and evaluate Talent, IP, pitches, and scripts for potential developmentBuild the seasonal development slate strategically to optimize creative assets across all platformsFind synergies across the Studio to maximize the value of in-house IP and Talent – Unscripted, News UK, Animation, etc.Ensure all departments are working cohesively to make the FOX Entertainment Programming successfulWork collaboratively and partner with other senior level executives across FOX EntertainmentTake general meetings for future development and staffingCreate writer and director lists; read and evaluate script submissionsEngage with and staff high-quality showrunners, writers, and directors who are appropriate for FOX EntertainmentAnalyze and contribute thoughts to projects in development/considerationMeet with creative talent for potential development opportunitiesManage Development team; provide leadership and inspire/motivate the team for the most creative outputsWHAT YOU WILL NEED15+ years of experience at agency, studio, or network preferably in both TV and theatricalBA/BSEstablished relationships with showrunners, writers, agents, talent, and the creative community in generalDeep understanding of the scripted development and production processesExcellent communication and negotiating skillsSelf-starter, collaborative, transparent, and flexible to changeDemonstrated people management experience, providing mentorship and development to team(s)
