We are seeking a highly motivated Research Data Analyst to join our team focused on investigating sleep and cardiovascular risk factors for Alzheimer's Disease and Alzheimer's Disease-Related Dementias (AD/ADRD). This position will involve managing, analyzing, and interpreting a wide variety of research data, including data from longitudinal population-based studies, clinical polysomnography, and electronic health records. Experience with multi-cohort data analyses, data harmonization, and machine learning is not required but is highly desirable. The analyst will collaborate closely with our research team, helping to prepare presentations and manuscripts focused on the link between sleep, other modifiable risk factors, and risk of AD/ADRD.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.The salary range for this position is $61,200 - $77,700 (Annual Rate).Department Description
The Moon (sleep) Lab for Artificial Intelligence Technology (MoonLAIT) is led by Dr. Yue Leng, an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at UCSF. MoonLAIT is not just another research lab; it is where data, sleep science, and innovation come together to redefine our understanding of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. We explore the untapped frontiers of sleep research, employing big data and machine learning, and aim to be the trailblazers in early detection and intervention strategies for neurodegenerative diseases.Please visit

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.Proficiency in statistical or coding software (e.g., R, Python).Demonstrable intrinsic curiosity, self-driven attitude, and the ability to be a fast learner.Exceptional communication skills.Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.Ability to effectively manage time and see assigned parts of projects through to completion on deadline.Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team-oriented environment.Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with machine learning and/or artificial intelligence techniques.Prior research experience in sleep and neurodegenerative diseases.Data harmonization.About UCSF
