Director of Business Development
Position Summary
The Business Development Director will be responsible for identifying and successfully guiding qualified advisor candidates through SFA Partners’ recruiting process to affiliation.
Essential Functions
Responsible for all phases of the recruiting process:
Build and manage an active pipeline of qualified advisor candidates that meet or exceed SFA Partners’ target profile
Conduct mutual due diligence including coordinating and hosting home office visits
Design and close offers to affiliate that meet or exceed SFAP’s revenue goals
Assist in setting recruiting strategy to achieve recruiting targets
Measure recruiting results (B/D revenue and Strategic Blueprint Assets) and refine strategy and process based upon results of defined metrics
Create forecasts for recruiting and present to senior leadership monthly and the Board of Directors quarterly, upon request
Manage and grow relationships with third-party recruiting firms
Build and manage relationships with Custodial Business Development Officers (BDO’s)
Build and manage relationships with Sponsor/Wholesalers to generate lead flow
Collaborate with SFA Partners Transition team to continually refine strategies for the successful onboarding of new financial professionals to the company
Acquire, develop, and present a strong understanding of SFA Partners (i.e., The Strategic Financial Alliance and Strategic Blueprint) offerings and financial models
Develop and communicate the Vision of our Company and our Culture of Independence to potential advisors
Assist in building and managing specific targeted campaigns collaborating with marketing and other stakeholders
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of seven (7) years in asset management sales and/or relationship management
Series 7 and 63
Proven track record of growing advisor relationships and closing business generating revenue
Experience with intermediaries (advisors and consultants)
Strategic thinker committed to collaborating within a team environment
Possess high energy, success-driven motivation, and a commitment to excellence
High level of interpersonal and relationship skills essential with the ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer-driven environment
Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills (grammar, writing, and editing)
Preferred:
Additional advanced degrees and/or industry designations
Series 66 or 65
Strong knowledge of industry trends, regulation, and operations
Of Note:
80% of advisor interaction will be via phone or Zoom
The remaining 20% will be presenting in person either at SFA Home office or the advisor’s place of business.
