Five (5) years of full-time work experience in college career services, college advancement/alumni/community relations, corporate recruitment, business development, or related environment. Must have, keep and maintain the appropriate valid NYS Driver’s License; have a motor vehicle record which is free from major violations or a pattern of repeat violations.Preferred Qualifications:Experience developing relationships that produce measurable outcomes in college level recruitment & hiring, alumni/donor/community engagement. Experience leading teams through direct staff supervision or through project management. Experience managing large scale projects, such as job fairs, career networking nights, etc. Experience working with a diverse, college educated population. Experience designing and presenting virtual content for a diverse college educated audience. Experience with technology, i.e. Google Drive, Handshake, Slack, Qualtrics. Experience with applicant tracking or career services’ databases, advanced Excel and/or related systems for effective tracking and reporting.Brief Description of Duties:Proactively cultivates relationships with employers to create talent pipelines of Stony Brook graduate and undergraduate students for career building roles in diverse industry sectors. Manages large scale F2F and virtual career fairs and networking events. Provides career coaching to students and career-focused student organizations. Strong candidates have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, possess the ability to work under pressure independently, meet deadlines, manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, and work as a member of a team. A student-centered philosophy and ability to work with diverse populations is necessary for success in this role.Employer RelationsManages corporate recruitment activities on campus, including 10+ F2F & virtual career fairs, corporate interviewing program, networking events, and company meet-ups. Prospects and develops relationships with new employers and develops strategy to enhance relationships with existing partners. Consults with employers as to development of job descriptions and recruitment strategies to achieve hiring targets. Works closely with the employer relations team to develop and execute programming that supports the recruitment needs of industry partners. Collaborates with college advancement staff on nurturing corporate relationships. Travel to employer sites as needed.Project & Staff ManagementManage employer engagement programs and events that involve staff internal and external to the Career Center. Create project charters, oversee planning committees, and be responsible for ensuring high quality programming. Co-manage employer engagement budget to ensure achievement of program goals with sound fiscal decision making. Supervises professional staff and student staff who support these programs. Lead meetings and initiatives in the absence of the director.Career CoachingProvide individual and group career coaching for undergraduate and graduate students, F2F & virtual, on all aspects of career development. Designs and delivers customized career development programming to prepare students for the workforce. Empower students to integrate classrooms with experience, and develop career readiness competencies.Information Management & TeamworkCollect hiring data and track placements. Review/approve postings in Handshake. Create reports and presentations using Excel, Qualtrics, PPT, and other tools. Maintain current knowledge of the college hiring landscape, and keep staff informed. Participates in conferences and committee work, both inside and outside the university, which may take place during the day, evening, or on weekends.Professional Development and Committee InvolvementParticipates in opportunities that promote their learning, growth, and development (i.e., classes, training, committees, webinars). Contributes to the Division of Student Affairs and Stony Brook University by attending and/or supporting events, activities, and programs sponsored by areas within and outside the Office of Student Life (i.e., campus-wide traditions, events, programs). Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission. Evening and weekend work may be required at times.Special Notes:This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption. In addition to the employee's base salary, this position is eligible for $3,400 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly.Essential Position:
