This position will be a key member of Ascend’s PowerSIMM team, serving in a cross-functional role to shape the future of our products that create a more effective and efficient energy transition. The position will support Ascend’s existing software product line that delivers financial insight to clean energy developers, investors, and operators. As a leader at Ascend, you will foster an environment of innovation and customer-focus while facilitating the product development process. This role will be focused on the core activities of SaaS product management, such as maintaining the strategic product roadmap, scoping features, prioritizing backlog, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver more value to our customers.Job ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain the product roadmap and backlog for Ascend’s PowerSIMM productDefine requirements and design solutions for new features with analysts and UI designersIntegrate with the engineering team to support product development and feature deliveryConduct backlog grooming and prioritization with existing product management teamTake ownership of complex projects and be able to perform independent communications and researchRequired QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.4+ years of professional experience in a relevant field (either product or energy)Possess strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detailExperience managing complex projects and delivering results to customersAbility to distill complex ideas and translate them into terms relevant to disparate stakeholders, including engineers, designers, subject matter experts, and lay peopleStrong teamwork skills and work ethicClear and succinct communication practices – verbal and writtenPreferred QualificationsExpertise in product management – 2+ yearsFamiliarity with wholesale power markets, renewables development and tradingAdvanced optimization or forecast modeling capability, demonstrated either professionally or academicallyExperience with agile product development and associated toolsCompensation: $120,000 – $160,000Negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
