Bally’s operates the Bally Live and Stadium sports streaming services. Stadium, a joint venture between Bally’s and Silver Chalice (owned by Jerry Reinsdorf, who also owns the Chicago Bulls and White Sox), is a free advertising-supported streaming (FAST) sports network distributed through partners such as Samsung TV Plus, Amazon Fire TV and Prime Video, Tubi, YouTube, and Fubo TV. Sports and events that Bally Live and Stadium broadcast include Minor League Baseball, Savannah Bananas, GLORY kickboxing, AVP Beach Volleyball as well as betting shows.
Well, what about the team?We are seeking a Lead Data Analyst to play a critical role in designing, building, and scaling analytics and insights capabilities to inform management decision-making and help achieve growth goals for Stadium and Bally Live streaming platforms. In this role, you will leverage your expertise with data analysis and visualization platforms to implement and maintain self-service analytics and reporting tools to deliver timely operational and financial metrics to functional partners across the business. You will be a key influencer and trusted partner to business leaders, deriving strategic insights from data to inform our direction and help evolve our programming, distribution and product approach.
The ideal candidate combines outstanding business acumen and communication skills with solid analytical skills. Stadium and Bally Live is building out its data and analytics function and this role will be the sole dedicated team member at the outset. While you will have the opportunity to collaborate with data infrastructure, business intelligence and analytics peers across the broader Bally’s Corporation, you will not only be comfortable rolling up your sleeves to perform data analyses and reporting, but also desire the opportunity to drive and implement our data analytics processes, workflow, and tools from the ground up.
So, what will you be doing?
Owning analytics and insights end-to-end to drive data-informed management and operations of the business, including programming strategies, digital ad optimizations, product engagement, and audience growth
Creating dashboards for self-service access, enabling teams to monitor performance, make decisions, and analyze data
Measuring and analyzing data from multiple sources to identify trends and deliver actionable insights to stakeholders
Defining and tracking key company metrics and KPIs, while partnering with leadership to interpret trends and changes
Developing and managing ongoing updates to forecasting models for key metrics, supporting company-wide forecasting, goal-setting, and strategic planning
Performing exploratory data analysis to discover new insights and inform strategic initiatives
Addressing strategic questions and critical initiatives by providing ad hoc analyses and research to support leaders across the enterprise
And what are we looking for?
5+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or related roles in B2C digital companies
Experience with self-service analytics tools (e.g. Amplitude, Mixpanel) and BI tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau, PowerBI)
Proficiency with statistical analysis and familiarity with programming languages such as SQL, Python, or R
Knowledgeable or passionate media, streaming, and/or digital advertising business models and market
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and reports, generate insights, and make data-informed decisions
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively - on paper, in person, over email/chat - across all functions and levels of the org; able to tell complex stories through concise narratives, while maintaining the depth of understanding to go deep on the details as needed
Proactive, thoughtful, and highly organized self-starter; thrives in ambiguity with the resourcefulness to figure out how to get things done with minimal guidance
Prior experience working in a startup or entrepreneurial environment highly desirable
