Job Summary
Under general supervision of the Parking Manager/Supervisor, the
Parking Valet Lead
will act as work leader for a variety of job functions within the Transportation Department. The primary job functions include leading valet attendants, customer service ambassadors, cashiers, and parking enforcement officers.
The incumbent will act in accordance with departmental procedures and standards for the department's daily operations and procedures set forth in the Transportation Services Operation manual. The incumbent will also act as an ambassador and/or greeter for Transportation programs and services as needed.
This position will be directly responsible for the daily job activities of staff within the Parking Representative series. The Parking Lead will ensure that the operation is running effectively and efficiently throughout the course of each business day.
Incumbent must be willing to work at any assigned UCSF location on short notice and must be able to work overtime as needed.
Work Days & Hours:
Generally Monday - Friday 8am-6pm but various days/hours as needed for operations.
Locations:
Variable and rotate to other campus locations as needed.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $24.12 - $32.49 (Hourly Rate).

Department Description
The Department of Transportation Services at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) provides essential transit, parking, and alternate commuter services that impact nearly every member of the UCSF community, including faculty, staff, trainees, students, patients, and visitors.
Required Qualifications
High School diploma/GED or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Valid California Driver's License and an excellent driving record required; no license restrictions other than for corrective lenses (applicants are required to present a current copy of their DMV record with their application/resume).
Minimum of 2-year valet and/or related parking industry work experience.
Ability to operate manual, automatic, and electric vehicles in and out of tight parking spaces quickly and efficiently.
Possess basic computer skills for valet operations and administrative duties.
Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly and effectively.
Perform basic mathematical calculations.
Demonstrated ability to work in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner with the public, faculty, staff, and co-workers and to function well under periods of stress.
Demonstrated record of exceptional attendance, punctuality, and excellent customer service.
Act in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and standards.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a health or medical center related environment.
Supervisory work-related experience.
2 years of related knowledge within the parking industry.
Experience with license plate recognition enforcement systems.
License/Certification
Valid California Driver's License and an excellent driving record required; no license restrictions other than for corrective lenses (applicants are required to present a current copy of their DMV record with their application/resume).
