who will drive the development and application of data science and analytics capabilities to drive business outcomes for Walmart's stores. As a subject matter expert in data science and analytics, this
hands-on leader
will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that leverage data to optimize store operations, improve the shopping experience, and drive sales growth.What you'll do:Drive the strategic vision and execution for the data science team, promoting a culture of data-driven decision making.Independently analyze data to drive strategic direction for the business, including technical approach, investment and focus.Articulate complex data insights to stakeholders and senior management in a clear and concise manner.Accelerate the AI/ML lifecycle by optimizing the cost and velocity of training data for system improvements.Uphold the integrity and quality of all data analysis, modeling, and interpretation.Formulate and implement effective data governance and data management protocols, ensuring compliance across the organization.Maintain a current understanding of industry trends and advancements in data science and retail technology.What you'll bring:PHD degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a similar field.15+ years of combined experience in data science, including substantial experience in both IC & leadership roles.Track record of solving complicated business problems using data, not just deeply technical solutions.Profound knowledge of machine learning, predictive modeling, and statistical analysis techniques.Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as
Python, R, SQL , etc. Python preferred.Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage a high-performing team.Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data in a simple, understandable manner tailored to the stakeholder of interest.Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Exceptional problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking skills.Prior experience in the retail sector is preferred.About Walmart Global Tech:Imagine working in an environment where one line of code can make life easier for hundreds of millions of people.
