About the Role:
The Managed Services Network Infrastructure Engineer will support and maintain the client's network infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points, and load balancers. This role involves troubleshooting, configuring routing protocols, managing firewall policies, performing system recovery, and applying firmware updates. The engineer will also manage VPN configurations, provide WAN connectivity support, and collaborate with vendors and ISPs to ensure network performance and security. Additionally, the engineer will monitor network devices, respond to alerts, and perform proactive maintenance to ensure the stability and longevity of the network environment.
What You’ll Do:
Network Maintenance:
Perform configuration updates, firmware upgrades, and troubleshoot issues for firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless access points.
Firewall Management:
Manage firewall policies, VPN configurations, NAT rules, and perform security updates.
System Recovery:
Handle break/fix services, root cause analysis, and network issue remediation.
WAN & ISP Management:
Monitor WAN links, manage ISP/vendor relationships, and resolve circuit issues.
Network Monitoring:
Use monitoring tools to track device health, respond to alerts, and maintain network inventory.
Wireless & Load Balancer Support:
Support wireless LAN systems and manage NetScaler load balancers for performance and availability.
Vendor Coordination:
Work with third-party vendors for troubleshooting, hardware replacements, and support.
Qualifications & Interests:
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Networking, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3-5 years of experience in network infrastructure support, including firewalls, routers, switches, and WAN/LAN environments.
Proficiency in Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and VeloCloud technologies.
Strong knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and VPN configurations.
Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSE) preferred.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
