Rutgers University – Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university located in Newark, New Jersey, is seeking an IT Project Manager. Reporting to the Associate Director of Innovation & Technology, the primary role of the ITPM is to plan, coordinate, and track Information Technology project initiatives and to lead technical solution implementations.Position Responsibilities:Ensures cohesiveness between Rutgers-Newark Technology and Learning Spaces (TLS), Rutgers-Newark IT (RUN-IT), and other Rutgers-Newark campus stakeholders in technical solution design, technical implementation, and overall project delivery for infrastructure, system, and application initiatives across the campus.Serves as primary client liaison and provides the “bridge” between client needs and technical solutions that support those needs.Responsible for financial/budget management of some projects.Applies best practices in project management and technical implementation in order to deliver value-added solutions in a cost-effective manner.Position Status:

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, subject to approval.Minimum Education and Experience:Bachelor of Science (or equivalent experience) in information technology, technical project management, or a related field of study.Minimum of 5 years IT project management and IT solution implementation experience.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Experiential knowledge and achievement in IT project management methods and procedures.Experiential knowledge and achievement in information technologies, infrastructures, systems, and applications.Preferred Qualifications:Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification; Lean six sigma training or certifications; Experience working in a higher education environment.Familiarity with Office 365, Wrike, WebEx, Zoom, Slack/Teams, and Qualtrics.Physical Demands and Work Environment:Climbing stairs, walking to campus meetings, commuting to off-campus locations as needed.A valid driver’s license is required.Special Conditions:All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of all pre-employment screenings.Supplemental Questions:* What is the highest level of education you have completed?
